New snake cages!

Dorgrim

Science nerd, Art nerd
So I finally got my new cages in! I spent 3 days putting them together, swapping out heat pads, siliconing custom backgrounds and installing lights!

:D

I am SO HAPPY! with the way they turned out (though still paranoid about escapie milk snakes (tape fixed that hah) The cages are basically 40 gallons, and give the snakes an amazing amount of floor space!
I originally was looking at boaphile cages, but their white cages (which matched my furniture) stained with colubrid urates, so i went on the hunt again. This time I found Constrictors NW and Eds cages! He builds them himself and they came in stacking locking units! They were 500$ cheaper (yowsers!) and the white doesnt stain! yaaay!
Plus not having to drill holes in the units for lighting or heating let me save on resale value and lots lots more!

So here they are! I put the cages together, installed my own heat mats, and lighting (thank you home depot!) and got them decorated! weee!

I have some custom backgrounds that i purchased to slip inside the cage for a great 3d effect and surface for the snakes to climb on! :)

with the awesome opening fronts and backgrounds now i can take super natural photos without having to drag the snakes out :) This one is my japanese rat snakes set up. Hes got a few more branches to be installed though !

I hope you enjoy! I loooove them to death and as i said before im a little worried about the smallest snake getting out, but not too much...I just slipped some tape over the crack im worried about and gonna keep an eye on her. I think shes too fat to get through ever any way! hah

wow! Those are way cool! Though... I think you may have somehow picked up a mammal in the works...

Are those 3x2 cages? It's a beautiful setup. When my snakes get large enough, i'm leaning towards Ed's cages as well.

they are just shy of 3 feet long
Ed gave me a good deal because of cheaper materials on the sizing. AND its still big enough for my dwarf boa plan later this fall :) I saved a ton with these cages and honestly, Ed was way nicer to me on the phone, through email and else where than the Boaphile dude. Boaphile was really short with and impatient. Aside from the staining white cages they just seemed snippy...

Oh so you got the 32" cages? Yeah, those are a real good value. Did you get the pro-stack or pro-line modular?

i got the modular :) So they slide right on top of each other and while together they weigh alot, alone they are super easy to pick up and carry off! :D

Yeah, the pro-stacks are cheaper and better if you don't need to move your cages around, but if you need convenience and portability, then the modular is definitely the way to go. Again, awesome cages and decorations. Your snakes will be very happy.

Whenever you have the time, could you please post pics of the lighting setup and how you installed them? Thank you =)

Very nice set up!!!!!!!!
Goes with your other animals.... stuff and real ones!! LOL

But how did you do the heat and lights?? Need details!!! I think I see a wire on the ceiling of the top one. So talk to me. lol
