Odd Checkers to boot..

Wow... what was that mixed with to create that bulldog-ish face? What an incredibly thick, blunt head that creature has, TandJ.

You are showing these because of the pattern? They are emoryi's, right? My weird ones do have regular checkering btw.

Exactly..They look like emoryi throwbacks..

I do see why they remind you of emoryi's, but their scales are quite different and the color does not match at all. I must say someone told me once that he thought the father looks like ther eis emoryi blood in him, but I think he is way too red for that.

I thought these guys were great looking when I first saw them. Looking again they are still great looking I want one lol. I am starting to think though that there is emoryi in them. It is what they look alot like. Emoryi's even have that smaller scale thing going for them. I went back to look at the father. His head and his shear size he looks some what emoryi himself. Could we get some more pics of Dad.

If small scales are an emoryi trait, where are all the small-scaled rootbeers and cremesicles?:shrugs:

Emoryi's are known to be shorter but 'stockier'. He is large and was quite chubby:

I don't have more recent pics but he lost weight from over 1200 grams to just over 700 and now he is slender, not stockier then any other corn.

His scales are not small at all, and though some person said he looks like a emoryi cross, another person, which is a well known Dutch breeder over here, had wanted to buy him himself before I did because of his true miami phase appearance. I know that he sure would not buy a breeder male if he had any doubts on the pureness (by looks in this case, no family lines known at all).

This is the sib of the mother of the tiny scaled baby's (also daughter of the miami phase male):

http://www.snakearound.nl/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=690

She was popped as a female but her tail yells male at me know, and she dropped of food this breeding season... she was probed by my specialised rep vet this spring and it was undecided... I so much hope it is a she :)

I popped the tiny scaled ones today and they seem to be a couple so far :) :) :)

They are both close to shedding, then I'll feed the 2nd one for the first time and the other one for the 2nd time. The normal sib is in his tub with a pinky but going into the night without showing interest for it... well, some just like to do it over night...

-UPDATE-

Both have shed, the male ate for the 2nd time, the female has a pinky over night in her tub, I hope she will eat for the first time.

The male is getting a bit orangy, the female not at all, I guess she'll become a miami phase tiny scaled corn :)

I have also named the tiny scaled ones: Visitor and Bliss :spinner:

Visitor, the male:

Bliss, the female:

This is the normal scaled sibling, a female (she has a pinky in her tub too right now, 2nd try). Not much orange on her either :)

By the way, the males has no pinky in his stomach yet, his body seems just a bit 'broad'. Maybe it's an optical illusion because the scales are so tiny?

Thanks! I just found out that I mixed up their records in my head, both weird ones have actually eaten, one twice out of two, the other one only the 2nd of three offered. The normal sib refused twice out of two offered :(

I popped them again and they still are a couple, and the normal one is a female too.

-UPDATE after 2nd shed-

Visitor (the male) is eating like a champ and growing well. He is getting orangy. His mom did show some orange when she was young but now she is all orange on silver so I hope he gets the look of his mom :) Here he is:

Bliss turned out to be male too after 2nd try to pop. He is eating cooked pinky's only, so he skipped a few meals before I found out and he's a little behind in growing. He has only a tiny spot of orange between his first (connected) saddles, the color in the pic is like in real life so I think he is gonna look like his dad color wise (maroon on grey) :) Here he is:

By the way, I think Bliss is no name for a male, any idea's for a new name? Since there is a Y on his head, and we don't know why he has tiny scales, would 'Why' be a nice name?
