Yes she can.. she just doesn't do it when she is being held. lol
She hisses and is a very angry snake during holding time.

Gotta love those feisty ones. I'm still waiting for my pituophis. Saw quite a few little lovelies at the reptile show, but nothing in my price range.

She's beautiful...in a "turn your back and I'll kill you" sort of way. ;)

Just to taunt you some more here Jen.
I am actually holding Selu right now in this picture. she was very gentle with me.

I want a t-shirt with her face that reads...
When I want your opinion I'll give it to you! :twoguns:

Pituophis are not naturally nasty. They might hiss a bit (well quite a lot actually), but it's a total bluff.
I know I've posted this all before, but I really think most people have the wrong idea of them.
I seem to remember a T.V. program (years ago) in the states, Archie Bunker ?
He done plenty of offensive shouting but deep down it was all front, and really he had a heart of gold. He was a human pituophis.
I just gotta defend these guys ( until mine bites me that is) LOL

My GF has been tagged a few times by ours. So yeah they can get nasty. Selu here is a striker and hasn't tagged anyone yet. She has smacked the front of her cage a few times.

hey, i didn't even notice your location before...we are right near Coon Rapids :)

Now I know what snakes eat those big meals...I am assuming she downs them whole...wow...pretty amazing!

She's so wicked cool...thanks for sharing

She is starting to tame down for me. I am so happy. I was holding her the other night and she was sitting pretty. I would post pictures but I was wearing my boxers. :wavey:
