Shivers' (the emaciated one) Progression

Shivers went to the vet today!

Everything is great, the vet said that I am doing a great job, especially since he has already shown improvement. He came in at 330 grams while there today, so I've either weighed him with food in him, or my scale is off (which is probable since I don't have digital).

She prescribed a 3 day course of panacur to rid him of any internal nasties. He'll start that on Monday since I work Fri-Sun.

Thank you so much for keeping this thread updated! I love seeing his progress!

Here's the sweet boy! Two months of being in my care :) He's at 380 grams today, and look how shiny he is!! It is so hard for me to see that he is actually gaining weight until I look at the pictures of when I first got him and see him now.
So, in the two months: He has gained 100 grams, shed once, been to the vet.

Thank you everyone! And no, he has not regurged since that one time (thank goodness!)

He's looking great AliCat, wow! I love those last two pics, he hit the corn snake jack pot when you walked into his life.

I am so in love with this snake. He reminds me so much of my first corn snake which my cat ended up killing when he escaped last year....

Truth be told, I think I got so many snakes because I was trying to find one as perfect as Jasper was. I only had four at the time, I am up to over 20 currently, only looking for maybe one more for breeding now.

Shivers is such a sweet boy. Every time I walk into the room, even if I don't see him right away, he soon pokes his head out from his hide and watches me. I'll walk up to the cage and he comes right up to the door, and it's not a feeding response either like with Envy who will fly outta the cage and grab me if I don't pay attention. I think he legitimately enjoys the attention. He is just like Jasper where I can have him sit in the hood of my hoodie all day long and he won't move. He does the same thing Jasper did too, where he'll leave his head poking out and resting on my shoulder :)

I just wanted to let you guys know, cause I think he's awesome. :)

You have done such an amazing job with Shivers and in such a short time too!! He looks better and better in each pic and is really a handsome guy!

I know they don't think like we do, but sometimes it's almost like there is something spiritual about a rescued animal, somehow they just know that you did something for them.

:( Ouchie!

So much for Shivers being a sweetheart. lol.

The worst part is, he is 100% responsible for the damage, I didn't pull back, but man he sure did! This is right after I got him off. This was a really awkward bite, that's why I am categorizing it as a pretty gnarly cornsnake bite. I couldn't get the other half of my finger in the pic, but you can see where his bottom jaw was (less blood) and the top one (all the red stuff). I'm all swollen and bruised :crying:

I'm pretty sure he got startled by the cat. He was nose to nose with her and I went to move him away before she decided to swat at him, when I touched him that's when he flipped around and grabbed me. One heck of a bite! He just ripped my skin like a little razor!
