Contradictory, perhaps. But then again, look at who the terrorists (talking about the majority) are fighting for and what they believe in. Their own Holy scriptures say that violence is evil and that we should love one another as bretheren, kind of like the Bible. But yet they're fighting in "God's name" and for Islam. That's a contradiction in terms as well. :shrugs:
I think what he was trying to say was how do you get at the root of the evil without perpetuating more evil till the end of time. Correct me if I'm wrong. I think perhaps Israel and Palestine have finally figured out an 'agree-to-disagree' stage and hopefully for the better and all sides can be mediochrely happy.
Its a noble idea, but in the way the world works anymore, its hard to just take out one man at the top and expect it all to crumble from there down. Terrorism is like a cancer upon mankind. Terrorists have their 'fingers' out and are connected to vital areas and to people with power and money.
I think we're going the right way with ignoring the terrorist's demands. Whether it be true or not, there haven't been as many widly publicized kidnappings/executions in a while. That may be just because those type of stories don't sell anymore.
But there's still a lot of work to do. I just wish if they want to fight a war, to fight one with people armed and ready for it. Attacking innocent civilians in anonymous bombings is nothing more than cowardice. Most of our troops are over there trying to secure those people's freedoms and lives, but yet are seen as the evil ones. If only they'd step outside of their fanatical interpretation of their religion and see the truth.
And I don't think anyone should condemn him for his thoughts and opinions, we all have those and should be able to express them freely, even if some people don't agree with them. =)
