candy and maple are under a year old
saleen is almost 2 years old

You bought Saleen and Pinky two years before they hatched? And Candy and Maple 18 months before they hatched? Amazing

im sorry to piss all of you off
i know how to care for them
im done coming to this site

We just want a better set up for the snakes is all, sorry that we've been rough with you. But we're passionate about the animals here.

you all seem to be getting pissed that i keep 4 snakes in the same 50 gallon when i was told it was fine if i take them out of the tank and put them in seperate bins to feed them if you want me to stay then dont tell me to give the snakes to someone that really knows how to care for them

Well, part of the problem is that your math seems to stink... first you bought them four years ago from a professor, then you say they have been together for three & a half years and then you say the oldest is only 2 yrs old... so... will the real story please stand up....

You are keeping male & female snakes in the same tank... you do know about the birds and the bees right? Do you know that if a female has eggs too early and become eggbound it can kill her?

My male is in an 55 gal tank by himself... I can't imagine putting another snake in there with him, let alone two or three. Please take the advice of an earlier poster and read about co-habbitating snakes....

Most on here would feel that the advice you got from whoever... is wrong.

ok i have a 20 gallon that my lilk snake is in right now ill put saleen in that and milky in the 50

and the others are ok in 10 gallons right???

They will be fine for now, but once they get bigger they will need to be moved up to something larger. :)

Welcome! If you want any specific ideas on setting them up with their own vivs much cheaper than buying glass tanks, you can PM me.. I'm talking about bins/tubs of course. They turn people off at first cause it seems like a temporary solution I think. Or maybe it feels like you're just being cheap on the animals to set them up that way, but once you do it I know you'll love it probably never go back! Besides it frees up lots of cash for- MORE SNAKES, lol.
Glad to see you open minded.. My first snake I ever kept was a gopher snake on sand with no hides, branches, or anything. He got a weak diet of one live mouse a month. That was in the 80's and I knew no one I could turn to for advice. Knowing what I know now, I'm surprised he lived so long.. The people here are an OUTSTANDING resource, you get to pick the brains of the greatest breeders in our times and for free! I would've killed for this back then..

I am not surprised this person wants to leave the forum. I would too. Forums are getting far too bitchy. It's all down to the fact that you aren't really face to fac with this person. Would you talk to them like that in real life? Passionate about the animals or not?
This person probably cares very much for his pets, you don't just attack them, saying such things as they should give them up to some who knows what they're doing etc. That's just nasty.
And then when this person finally gets so offended, you all deny you've said anything at all wrong, and make out they're being silly. He's not being silly. It's true that cohabbing snakes can be dangerous. But in my opinion its not so dangerous that it warrants talking to the person like this. You can just suggest things in a nice way. I know it makes people feel really good about themselves when they can label someone else cruel or stupid, thereforemaking themselves superior but if you actually want that person to listen and learn anything then you have to be considerate, and please accept they are 9 times out of 10 just misinformed, and innocent.
I would suggest plastic tubs for seperating the snakes, like some people have mentioned. I have witnessed corn snakes living very happily and cosily with one another. Even if you kept all 4 together I think its highly unlikely hey will eat each other. But it may cause stress, especially between males and females when the male gets amorous, or possibly between the different species. however I knew a corn who lived with ratsnake (I am notadvising it don't get me wrong) and he actually preferred the rat snake to other corns since he had always lived with it and I suppose though he as a ratsnake too.

Anyway, all you needed to do was mention that they should be sperated, perhaps into cheap tubs to make it easier. I don't see why it has to be a 'heated' subject it doesn't prove anything about ethical we all are. Just take each situation as it comes, and be civil!

Ok stop (hammertime)

Only one person said to get rid of the snakes. And she's not very high up on the advice totem pole; after constantly saying these sorts of things, cohabbed two corns, and lost them both.

So feel free to calm down now ;)
And notice that things had been resolved already...
