Things I Learned This Week

Congrats on the longevity of your dog!!! What a cute face!! :)

I learned that just when you think your new dog is potty trained.... he isn't. LOL. Don't know what's going on, but after a week of only 2 errors on his first day, he's had multiple errors on every day since (Friday, Saturday, Sunday). :( SHEESH!

Good thing... its number 1... Bad thing... we've got carpet and its number 1.

Gotta love old puppies!

@Fred, I don't know if I agree with you. I think I'd prefer number 2 to number 1 any day.

Thanks, Fred. I'm pretty proud of her. Stubborn old lady. Reminds me of my grandmother, just a little less manipulating... No, wait, Sammy is that, too. Would you believe, a few years ago, she would purposely fake a limp (on what was then her good leg) and walk back and forth in front of you to get extra glucosamine supplements and Rimadyl? The little addict! Lol! She's gotten over that these days, mainly because we have her on a not-as-yummy (but arguably more effective, and definitely cheaper) supplement and have managed to cut Rimadyl completely out of the equation (amazing what a good food--in her case, Avoderm Senior--can do!).

Halley, I'm with you. #2 is SO much easier to clean than #1... Usually. It's another story entirely when they get sick, though, if you catch my drift. Yuuuuck!

I'm so glad Sammy's age hasn't had too much effect on her ability to "hold it"...

I learned a few hours ago that Scout is sick... vomited a few times and had diarrhea outside (thankfully!). So we're trying to treat him. Not sure what happened, but the poor guy is definitely sucking up the attention. LOL.

Fred,

We are having that same problem with our chi. He is over 18 months old now and was great for three or four months, but has now reverted to crapping on the floor when we leave. The good news is, he's a chi, so it's only but so big... but c'mon! What is this about?

I think it may be the weather... he gives me this look every day like "You expect me, ME, to go out there and poo in THIS heat?! I think not!"

HA! I think Scout agrees with ya. When it is over 105 here, the asphalt is about 135-140 degrees. The desert sand, probably just minimal few degrees cooler. Even at night, the "heat retaining" asphalt last night was over 100 degrees (depending on where I pointed it) at 10:00 PM while the temps were 90+!!!!
I'm hoping for a weather change (for both of us!) soon!
