Unexplained Experiences... and LOLghosts

Thought it was a good discussion because of the thread "Photoshopped?"... You can post any experiences you had... like ghosts... UFOs... Alien abductions... etc. lol

Also, Jazz requested LOLghosts... so if you want to waste your time making one.. go on. :)

I'm a big supporter of TAPS because they try to disprove hauntings and are reluctant to say a place is haunted without proof... They also have a cool show... Anyway, go on and post hopefully this thread won't die... (get it?)

Not particularly funny...but I felt I had to contribute..

On a serious note..

I THINK I have seen a ghost.. but I can't verify it because I may have just been tired. . .

Anyway I was sleeping at my nannas house (as I often do) and I went to sleep like any other night... but I woke up at god knows what time to find and old lady sitting in the corner of the room staring at me (no.. it was NOT my nanna) I had a mixed reaction, I was not scared nor exited/confident, I rolled over and went back to sleep.

And my nannas experiences...
Her Dad passed away quite a few years ago.. and she says she had a worry on her mind, she says she woke up late at night to find her dad standing there.. and he told her not to worry and that everything was going to be fine.

Your opinion is your opinion but I believe that they exist to some extent

Cheers,
Connor

theres a big house behind me back some like secluded almost and my brother and his gf went in there one night and took some pictures and in a couple pictures you can see people and like 5 different people saw it without even telling them where we saw it in the picture it was kinda creepy i dont usually believe in ghosts but that made me pee alittle

I have a few of these.

I have not ruled out that my mind may have been playing tricks on me when these 'ghosties' appeared.

Here goes... :)

I was sitting in a library, a couple of years back. The library is part of a very old building, and it has a small garden running parallel to the west side of the library. Anyway, I was sitting next to the window, and couldn't shake off one of those very strong feelings of 'something' being in the garden. After about fifteen minutes of this very uneasy sensation, I saw what appeared to be a shadowy black figure out the corner of my eye. After a second it vanished and with it went the 'being watched' feeling.

I have seen people walk through solid walls, and vanish suddenly when there was nowhere for them to go. I have on occasion seen shapeless black shadows, one of which once shot across the floor towards me (I had the eebie jeebies for a while after that one!) It vanished the second I turned to face it full-on.

Were these things all in my head? Probably. Did they freak me out? Definetly ;)

Many years ago, a friend and I used to play frequently on a Ouija board. Believe what you like, but we had a few too many "strange" things happen while using that board for me to completely discount ghosts/spirits or whatever else you might call them. And I don't just mean things the board "said", but things that happened in and around my house while using it. Doors opening and closing of their own accord, bizarre behaviour in our pets, etc...
To top it off, the board only worked with just the two of us. Put me with anyone else or her with anyone else on it and it would not work. And no - neither one of us was pushing it around. We were in our 20's and beyond the "childish" aspect of it - we wanted to see what was real and what wasn't.

I don't have any cool pics...

My only paranormal experience was when I got up one night in my house back in VA, and I went to get something to eat (midnight munchies). I was probably 12 at the time.

Well, as soon as I got back into bed I realized I hadn't shut my bedroom door, and standing there was a woman in a nightgown, very tall, with white wispy hair. She looked past me then walked away into the next room. I got up, my mouth full of food, and followed her, but she had disappeared. I was confused as I thought it was my mother for a minute, and I even called out "Mommy" a few times, but when I checked she was sleeping in her room with my dad.

I never saw the lady again.

People have "seen" dinosaurs in Africa, pterodactyls in New Guinea, Yeti in the Himalayas, bigfoots in Connecticut, and Elvises in Burger Kings, etc., etc.. A guy mugs a woman in broad daylight and person A reports that he was a white guy, person B reports a black guy, and person C reports that the perp was an old asian lady. Humans are horribly unreliable as witnesses to even "normal" events (a bigfoot sighting would not be paranormal or supernatural).

I don't talk much about "belief". I'm unconvinced concerning anything paranormal or supernatural because there is zero evidence to support any of the claims. Ok, ok, by definition, the supernatural is outside of the scope of science because science can only make predictions and measurements of the natural world. But if the human eye can see something, then an instrument should be able to record it, unless a ghost is only perceptible to the "soul". I don't even want to start in on that. There have been no substantiated recordings of ghosts by any instrument.

Because you don't understand or can't identify a thing or event doesn't make it paranormal or supernatural. I see UFOs all the time. Hey what's that speck streaking through the early evening sky? Probably a sattelite, but I can't be sure, so it's an unidentifed flying object to me. I don't think for a second that the UFO is a construct of an ET culture, but it's still unidentified by me. When I was a young kid I saw some lights in the sky doing some strange things. But I don't know if what I remember now is what I saw or if the memory is just the most recent version of a story I've told myself a thousand times. :shrugs:

Bigfoot is, like, totally real Dean! I can't believe you haven't seen one yet. I had like 5 of them in my backyard when I used to live in CT!
LOL

I completely agree. I am a science based person. I like to see facts to believe in anything in todays world. But my experiences have on occasion made me sit back and wonder.... There could very well be logical explanations for what happened to us, but we tried to determine logical outcomes and could not come up with any. Even today, going over the events in my mind, I can not find any.

Hah! Well, I'll have to keep my eyes open.

But seriously, "bigfoots exist" is a testable theory, if we're talking about a flesh-and-blood animal. If we never find evidence, then it's unlikely that they have been our contemporaries. But what do you do with "ghosts exist"? How do you even define what a ghost is? Is it the "soul" of a departed person? Is it an energy field devoid of intent or identity? Is it a visible entity, or is it only detectable via some supernatural "sense"?

I did some serious time with Ouija boards as a teen. Despite being a skeptic even then, I experienced things that I couldn't explain at the time, e.g., flaring candles, dogs becoming uneasy and anxious, ease of "communication" throught the board. There are about a thousand reasons that a candle might flare up. All I have to do is stare intently at something for my dog to get uneasy. And then there's the ideomotor effect:

I've always been a fan of fantasy. There probably isn't a person on the planet who wishes more than I do that "magic" would truly exist. I'm a lucid dreamer and a victim of frequent deja vu, so I'd love to think that I'm special and gifted with extra perception. But I'm not.

well this is alittel offtopic but you called your mom "mommy" when you were 12?

DITTO!

I've gotten the deja vu more often than the lucid dreams. The deja vu experiences I've had have mostly been that I've dreamed something happened and then a day or two later it actually DOES happen. That's happened AT LEAST three times that I can recall.

I've never seen any ghosts though or any evidence of them, like things flying off a table or anything like that. My best friend once told me of a time she saw a ghost but that's it. Other than that I don't even know anybody who thinks they saw a ghost or experienced strange happenings.
