what do you think of these eggs

mine hatched out on day 62 I had the temps between 80 and 85 never going over 85. All 17 hatched out and were perfect keep your head up they will come when they want to stubborn lil pips...

Going by a lot of posts I've read, I guess 62-65 days is about average for eggs kept at 81-82 F? Rose the mommy snake double clutched for me Friday afternoon/evening. She laid 10 eggs mostly slugs but some about 4 of them looked as though they might be viable so I have them all in the incubator now. None of her first clutch is even showing not even a little bit of a sign that they might hatch soon. But I am crossing my fingers that it will be soon.

I would much rather have them incubating at a little bit lower temps & take a little bit longer. Less chance of damaging heat spikes or incubation problems (kinking, hatching before fully developed, etc).
I know it is no fun waiting, but it will be worth it when you see those little noses sticking out. :)

Yeah, yr probably right...I just want to see baby snakies so bad for some reason, I've been waiting so long to have some good eggs, and finally do and it just seems like it takes forever for them to hatch. My first two clutces this year didn't make it, my very first clutch of 11 eggs , all died on me in the first couple of weeks , and my oldest girl Diamond out of the 21 eggs she laid only two made it almost to hatching time but thanks to me , I picked them up and candled them and they busted open in my hands and died. So I'm just really hoping these will hatch healthy and be good little snakies for me and live..awhile.

My 16 yrs of breeding and raising all sorts of reptile eggs experience's

Yeah the key is with any eggs all the years I have been breeding reptiles is to not move them out of there original position of being laid. It dont take much to drown the embroyo by movement. I mark the tops of the eggs upon removing all beardies and snakes. I always use hatchrite or new clay substrate that is already naturally free of bacteria. With beardie eggs you can see the bullseye veining in the eggs since they always seem more transparent. Snake eggs can be harmed by intense light from candling so they say so I never ever pick them up to candle them. You will see anyways within 1 week usually what eggs are going to make it or perish by looks alone. Also never try to pry a bad egg off of a fertile egg while placing the ggs in container. The mold from the bad egg almost never interfers with development of a healthly egg. I have had clusters of 3eggs where 2 are completely rotten and the one healthy egg hatches perfectly repelling all mold and fungus. Yes more incubation time is always best, never rush through raising temps. Stronger babies always with longer incubation times.Happy Herping guys and gals!!!

My new baby cluster all finally out of the eggs. Took them almost a week to all leave there eggs one by one.

They still look good to me. I am thinking any day now. Maybe they want to see you go a bit mad first!

lol yep thanks ed
and mad is what im going lol
they seem to have changed colour and gone softer than the others
thats the bit thats making me nervous

Hmmmm well all eggs sink in right before the babies cut through using there egg tooth. The color change is pretty weird though. I see the other eggs in the pic are still bright white looking. Keep us posted and best of luck..

Thank you sir!!!! I have loved reptiles since I was 7 yrs old and had my first snake which was wild caught green snake. You know where it leads from there.. LOL Now I primarily breed beardies, Chams, and corns since they seem to all be very easy. If you need anything or have any questions and would like to give me a call just send me a email for my number. That goes for anyone as I would love to help you guys. www.starfiredragons.net Email me at [email protected] I wish you all nothing but the best with your new babies soon to hatch. Breeding season is always a blast!!!! Reptileman1979;)

Thankyou Reptileman1979
im not to sure on the other two eggs but hey only time will tell so we will see but im kind of pulling my hair out now day 71 and nouthing
all i can say is that them eggs looked good up untill a few days ago :)

Chin up! I'm on day 75...no signs of hatching. I'm convinced they've drowned or I jostled them too much checking for pips. I guess I have no choice but to wait and see if the hatch or rot! I was checking them several time a day, now I'm "trying" to only check them in the morning and at night. Too discouraging to see those eggs staring back at me. I'm thinking I'll take the pencil and draw faces on them next time. At least then I'll have something looking back at me! LOL. Good luck and I hope your babies hatch for you soon!

Day 57 for me and mine are starting to discolor/and have some starbursts shapes to them, not sinking in yet or nothing but they do have the little bursts on them and are kinda turning color on me...so I am hoping that's normal and a good sign.

rusticreptiles, I wouldn't pick them up or handle them at all, let them be in the incubator undesturbed, believe me, I learned the hard way with my oldest girls eggs this year, I was often picking them up and checking them out and looking at them and candeling them, and well, the two good eggs that I got from her burst in my hand, and I watched the not all the way formed baby die, it was breathing but not 100% developed yet, and that happened twice to me, one was on day 32 and the other one made it to day 54 which is the one that was breathing, before it died. So try very very hard not to handle the eggs much. All I do now is look at them through the top of the incubator window, and sometimes open it to open the lid of the container to peek at the eggs and temps and that's it. I did candle them all within the first week after they were laid, and that's all I needed to know if they were fertile or not. Good luck with yrs, and hope you'll have cute little heads poking out soon.

Thanks. I don't pick them up. I just candle the few on the outside of the bunch and the only motion is me taking them out of the incubator and removing the top so I can peek in. I have a vertical incubator so I have to take them out to view them. I'm wishing I used the hovabator this year so I could see them better without movement.

Sorry about the ones that died in your hand. I can imagine that was an awful thing to see. :(

Look what i found Today :)

omg im so so happy
