Thanks for the gesture, Dale.
I just woke up at 11:00am (I worked late), which means I won't be focused until 2:00pm or so...and am trying to catch up (here), as things are often funny here...and all over the place.
What I get so far is that Danielle is bluntly hilarious and often unaware, Dave is hilarious in...psychedelic...ways (a compliment), you said Jew and Lori said clan, and the twins haven't seemed to notice yet.

EDIT : And Wade is reliably hilarious in his own trademark way,...and Wayne (medusacoils) is absolutely positively hilarious (post # 601).

And I heard a voice, saying Time will be no more.
The sky will roll up like a scroll.
The moon will drip with blood.
And the sea will burn like tar.

Where will you be sinner? Where will you stand when my Moderator rains fire upon the Internet.

No big deal. I say "a Jew" every time I sneeze.

:D

Excuse me, but I had NO idea he was on a SELF appointed suspension. Even so,I NEVER was antagonistic in any way. How is asking questions and posting my opinion now becoming antagonistic towards others.
YOU, on the other hand has brought this to the forefront with a VERY negative and combative attitude, which I personally don't really understand since it had and has nothing to do with you.
You must be one of those people who has to get involved in other conflicts just so they get pats on the back by their friends.
I on the other hand ONLY get involved when it is me who is affected. Yes, I was dissed by a moderator with words that were again the rules.
Second I was very much offended by the moderator by her words about people of a different color then I.
HOW, was it you were involved in either of the situations and how is it you feel its your RIGHT to attack me when you were never brought up in any of the conversations I was having with others.
Your a piece of work that I don't care if I ever hear from again.
I totally agree with Nancy, and I didn't find anything she said antagonistic. She felt like she was unfairly called the 'B' word, but accepted the apology. Their is a double-standard of sorts, and maybe that's the only way to make this system livable for the mods, but as members it gets frustrating. I don't want the mods to have to step in, but at the same time if Susan can make her raw unfiltered opinion without discipline, than so should I. I'm glad to see the slack that this site allows now, and Dean has been a superb mod IMO. Maybe he shouldn't have used the 'B' word, but I'll admit I use the word in jest myself. That doesn't mean I use it in front of people who it may offend, and for that Nancy has the right to voice her opinion; She felt offended.

BTW, LBoz, you have no reason to start ranting with the whole "I'm being a good friend" defense. Your hardly taking a bullet for somebody, and are really just rattling off at the keyboard trying to get someone upset. Susan was out of touch, and got some backlash; justice. Dean said the 'B' word, but later retracted that statement and got a well deserved "apology accepted"; justice. To me the deed is done and there's no reason to start it back up again!.

Now you know this old queer (yes, I can call myself that...and if you want an essay on why, I can provide that, too)

I believe I read the executive summary on this very thread.
vetusvates said:
"Charged" slang dynamics, I believe, has to do with power. Who comes up with a word against whom, and their relative power positions/relationship in a society. I think resolution of the power asymmetry is the key to de-demonizing unsavory slang labels.
For example, when somebody calls me a slang, they either are my power equal (not offensive),....or they are using it in an attempt to subordinate me (offensive).

This truly will be my last post on this thread. for anyone who wants to know why I feel the way I do can go to Dean's "stop the political bs" thread. Starting on page 2 then some(those not personally involved with the mods in question) may understand why I feel the way I do.

What's this 'B' word...... I know a few, but I'm not sure I saw any of them on here....
I did see the 'W' word though.....
pm me the 'B' word please.....
I won't be offended.....

Now you know this old queer (yes, I can call myself that...and if you want an essay on why, I can provide that, too) much prefers the Tammy Wynette version.
I want an essay; Lines spaced, no run-on sentences, and Times New Roman size twelve. I also want no more than 2 pages, and I expect it on my table by 6pm eastern/standard time. Ready, set, GO!!.

Don't forget the 1 in margins and MLA formatted and annotated bibliography to go along with it. :santa:

Katie, I love you.

I think way too many people are getting their knickers in a knot over nothing. Are people going to offend other people? Um... DUH!!! There are some people whose mere existence offends me. But does that mean I have to fight with them every minute of every day? Nope. Otherwise, I'd have a pretty full schedule. I mean, can you imagine trying to fit nagging, yelling, eye-gouging, scratching, cat-fighting, punching, beating, etc. in with my school schedule? Or how about trying to cram in whining and crying every time someone called me a name on top of all that? Do I get ticked when it happens? Sure. But remember: there are some battles that just aren't worth fighting.
Honestly, I think Katie said it best. Grow up. Heck, if David can do it, y'all should have no problem with it!
