Wow, that is one expensive snake

Remember this is Canadian pet store prices for you, and I even talked them down $100, she is a Motley, that may even qualify as a sunglow. But she is so pretty and I so wanted her! She was 2yrs at purchase.

I once saw a albino green tree/or emerald tree (don't recall) at the DC NARBC...they were asking 100 GRAND..and 50,000 each for the two het babies they had. NOW that was an expensive snake! I sold my house for only 10 grand more! LOL!

I am quite sure it was the albino GTP

That would be Midas, Trooper Walsh's albino GTP

Personally, I think that 15 grand for any eastern hognose is just as ridiculous as 15 grand for any obsolata ratsnake. Neither make great pets, only a few people will really enjoy them, there both just really hard sells with very limited markets. If the guy can get it, good for him, but I doubt that it will be done. Now if it was a western hog or a cornsnake, I could easily see one of them that looked like that getting 30-40 grand, for an unproven animal.

I think it's a bit odd that they're asking that much without having bred the snake to see if it's able to be passed on genetically / so they can have some of their own. You know?

Personally,I think paying 1K or over for any snake is ridiculous. Why?? What's that special about it besides it's colors or patterns? Can they fetch,do they roll over,do they do any tricks at all? I'm just saying.

Well, it can roll over and play dead. :)

The only value of a pet for you is the tricks it can do?

Aye, everyone has their own line in the sand. I purchased a Tessera... why? Because I love the look.

But I must add, if tricks are what you value then cornsnakes probably are not the appropriate pet for you.

Yeah I'm with Oren, which ones get over 100K?

I think particular animal is stunning and if I had 15k sitting around in my snake budget it would on it's way here. That's just my opinion though.
And that's the point... Expendable income.
Some people will buy, what some see as expensive investment snakes as pets, just because they can..
Like some people spend 500,000 or 600,000 on 200+mph cars in a 55mph speed zone, just because they can afford it...
Plus...... It could be a price the breeder has slapped on, just to stop people asking...
