I read through the first 4 pages of this post, so I don't know if somebody has already said this.

I have 5 Visionarium cages that have a sliding glass front like that, and I had a corn that was fairly large getting out all the time between the two pieces of glass. I can almost guaruntee that that is where you're little guy got out.

I'm sorry for your loss and hope that you get another snake. Live and learn, we've all been there at some point.
