Progression thread for my IJ Carpet Pythons

MysticExotics

(formerly NWHeather)
I have like Carpets since I first saw them, & knew I would eventually be adding them to my collection.

A friend had this little one, that he held back from a clutch, but then decided to sell after all.

"Karma" came to mind, when I first saw her/him, when the guy tried to pop her/him, she bit him, a couple times. At one point, (s)he latched onto the tip of his thumb, & refused to let go. Which of course made it impossible for him to pop her/him. LOL So, I gave it a shot, while (s)he kept a tight grip on his thumb. I *think* female, but not 100% sure. I hear they're hard to pop after 48hrs old. (I jokingly said, "Karma bites, huh?") LOL

Karma, my first IJ, hatched on my birthday, 40th birthday...none the less.

I love how comfortable (s)he was with me, even right after the guy tried to sex her/him.

I cannot wait to see how she grows up. Her parents are gorgeous! (I'll post pics of them too.)

I hope you enjoy the pics :)

Thanks for looking!

I can't believe how tiny she is! She can't believe it either, apparently. Thinks she's a big bad snake :) I love the grumpy look on her face in the fourth picture.

Mom and Dad are beautiful, I'm excited to see how this little one grows!

What a cute li'l thing :). For a snakie, it sure has an expressive face!

I'm still holding out for a BRB, myself.
Thanks, I found Karma to be irresistable :)
I'm not much into the BRB types, you can have them :)

Hee hee, your thumb doesn't stand a chance!!!!!
Haha...as long as I don't try any popping, I should be ok. :D

I know! The pic that the guy posted when he announced the babies, is Karma, I'm pretty sure of it. The pic was taken at 3 days old.
I think pic #4 was taken right after he tried to pop her. I think she was a bit disgruntled. Haha

I am really excited to see how she grows up too. I love how they change so much, getting prettier as they grow.

Awe, here I was hoping I ended up with a baby that would not go through the "hateling" phase, since (she) has been so sweet....she's still sweet when I pulled her out, but then when I put her back in, she discovered a dose of sassiness. LOL
She'll be 4 weeks old tomorrow.

Awe! She's adorable! And so pretty! I never really gave much thought to these guys...but now I'm thinking twice about them! They may have to be added to my "want list"... :D

Keep us posted!

I should just make this the progression thread for all of my IJ's, so I'm not adding several threads of IJ's on a Corn forum. LOL
I am picking up a 1.1 juvenile pair (about 6 & 6.5 months old), non related tomorrow, & another hatchling on Saturday.
I knew once I got into snakes, that I would eventually get Carpets. I picked IJ's because they're the smallest of the Carpets.

I will definitely keep this updated. I love showing off my babies, it's great to see others like seeing them. :)

Here's the 1.1 pair I picked up from the same guy I got Karma from.
Teija is the girl, who is a bit older than the male.

Taji is the smaller, younger male. I'm told he has a sweet, funny little personality. I guess he likes to cuddle with his food. We'll see next week. :)

Wait, that's not all...LOL
I'll be picking up a hot Jaguar male, & picking out a normal ph granite female on Saturday. They're both hatchlings a few months old.
Here's the Jaguar I'll be getting.

Thanks! I found out from the breeder that I will be getting him & the normal ph granite female, that the jag is also ph granite, so when I grow these two up, I could possibly end up with granite jags.... :)

You have WAY too many beautiful snakes, Heather. Time to send that Jaguar to me so you don't get overwhelmed! *grins*

Haha-I haven't even picked him up yet. I go to get him on Saturday, & pick out a Normal female.
He is stunning, isn't he?
Don't worry, i won't get overwhelmed. ;)

WOW! What neat snakes! Wish I could go snake shopping! :D
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!! lol

Thanks :)
The breeder is a freind of mine. I wasn't planning on getting a Jaguar, because they are spendy, but she can be pretty convincing...LOL
I'm excited to watch these babies grow up. I love Carpets!
