Progression thread for my IJ Carpet Pythons

Here's the parents to my soon to be Jaguar:

The Jaguar, Creme Brulee, is the dam, Timbu, is the sire, & he is also the sire to the female Normal I will be picking out. Honabe, is the dam to the female I will be getting.

I *love* the dorsal stripe on the Jaguar dam & my soon to be baby Jag. male!!

Two beautiful snakes, but they won't be making pure Jag, sorry.
They will make 50% IJJ though... Which are just as stunning, if not more stunning...
The Yellow of the Jag will be replaced with the gold of the IJ.....
That's if the Jag is pure.....

I want one with coloring like the momma snake! Purdy!

Pretty sure I can't afford one (been looking at prices online! Yikes!), but I can admire them from afar :).

I do know that. ;)
Mom is not 100%. She's 50% IJ & Coastal. I wasn't expecting a pure Jag, but I love the coloring/markings, so this is a perfect baby for me. He is more than Normals, but not the price of 100% Jags.
The Jag mom came from Yasser, who's got some sweet pythons.

Irish, I'll be sure to post plenty of pics for ya :)

Meet Dazhbog & Jezanna

I picked up Daz & Jez from a breeder friend of mine.
I wasn't planning on getting a IJ Jaguar this soon, but she's pretty convincing, & he's gorgeous...so...

Daz is a 75% IJ Jaguar ph granite, & one of the things I like the best about him is that he has the dorsal stripe like his mom.

Jez shares the same sire as Daz, so she's also ph granite

So I had decided, "no more" after I got Dazhbog & Jezanna...so much for that idea....drat!

Here's the deal...
Someone locally ended up in a real bad spot, with some serious health problems, & they needed to rehome their animals.

I ended up taking this little girl, an '09, 100% IJ-she hatched the day after my birthday, a year ago. I know the original breeders & the parents are stunning...see for yourself :)

I'm still working on a name, possibly "Skadi" a Norse Goddess.
She pretty little for an '09. At 64grams, I think she may be about the same size or smaller than my '10 IJ female, Jezanna (I'll have to weight Jezanna to verify). But then again, Jezanna was the first of her clutch to eat, & has grown considerably quicker than the others in her clutch.

I also talked a fellow local corn chicka into taking one of the babies. She will be getting a great little IJ male, from the same parents that Jezanna is from.
I'll let her introduce him when she picks him up from me next week, :)

I think one of these guys are on my wish list for Daytona. I cant decide between an IJ or a spotted or children's python. I am very short on funds but if I get one snake at Daytona it will be one of these I think.

I don't know much about the spotted or childrens pythons, but I love these IJ's. :)

Beautiful Carpets, and I love the hateling photos - LOL! :D I have a little Jungle Carpet yearling, and luckily he never went through a bitey phase... he occasionally strikes at the tub, if you catch him by surprise, but has never tried to gnaw on me. Congrats on the new additions, they're great snakes!

I have a pair of Spotteds and a pair of Stimsons, which are fairly similar... I love them all, and they're definitely more mellow than a Carpet! It's all a matter of personal choice, though, and I personally want a bit of everything. ;)

Where's the pics of your JCP?:)
I have 6 IJ's, 3 '10's & 3 '09's. That was the only hateling day (so far) with Karma. My others have been just fins, so far.
I expect my IJ Jaguar might be a hateling for a little while.

Well, *one more* IJ juv female will be coming home-LOL
"Sirona" is from the same situation that Skadi comes from (& where
Emily's boy, Malakai comes from).
I will be picking her up Thursday night.
Here's some older pics of Sirona. I'll add more once she's home. :)

Sorry for the poor pic quality.
Here is Sirona with one of her sisters from the same clutch.
Sirona is smaller than she should be at a year old, & Fiore is bigger than your average IJ yearling. No one would guess they're from the same clutch.
I hope Sirona follows in her sisters path...she's gorgeous!

Karma finally shed!! (her 2nd shed)

I've been waiting for Karma to shed, she's had that look, like she needed to, for a couple weeks.
I check on her a couple times a day, & gave her a cup with damp paper towels...finally, today when I went up to check on her, she was almost done with her shed! YAY!!! :dancer:

VERY beautiful snakes, Heather! While they're all awesome, the "Jaguar" look is simply stunning to me.

Kudos to you on your splendid collection!
