'14 Het Terazzo cinder amel hypo x same

Actually these partial striped pattern ARE known het markers for the terrazzo mutation. Some het terrazzos show those markers, some don't. Congrats on those neat hatchlings, did you get a cinder terrazzo?

I bred a Sunkissed Stripe to a Terrazzo this year and the hatchlings have near-perfect patterns! They almost look like Motleys! Strange how het Terrazzo can either be sooo clean looking or that "messy" partial stripe look!

So I have the totals for the animals that I have eating currently...
Terrazzo (poss het tons) 2.1
Cinder? (poss het tons) 4.2
Normals (poss het tons) 4.6
Hypo Terrazzo (ph cin, amel) 0.1

In this project did you use "Boyd" line terrazzo or the "JMG" line? I ask because I do feel the partial striping is a possible het marker for terrazzo in the "Boyd" ones.

I have no idea, the orig terrazzo was purchased at a pet store in Orange County 6+ years ago.

I'm willing to bet that long ago it would be more likely to be a Boyd line animal ? The JMG ones have a lot of miami influence and tend to be more red. And I believe Boyd line would also be less likely to have other hets since they were outcrossed less. I was wondering if you have a picture of your original terrazzo from the project.

Hi first congratulation to clutch.

I breed for many years with terrazzo and I can confirm the statement of JimGERcream, hatchlings with this marker are usually het. Terrazzo.
However, I can only speak for the original Granite line.

In the evaluation of the first four corns I agree to Nanci
1. Terrazzo
2. cinder
3. Hypo Terrazzo
4. Terrazzo

I also have two clutches of het. Cinder Terrazzo same I hope I have a similar result, perhaps complemented by a cinder Terrazzo :-D ;)

So here is the grandma lol

I do not own the grandma and she has been sold since the breeder loan.

I don't know enough about what most of these target morphs should look like to speculate, but I just wanted to say that "grandma" is beautiful. Sounds like an exciting project.

Well... I don't think bloodred has been mentioned in this thread... but "clear belly" in post #53 does look to have some side diffusion, and it would explain the clear belly.

Nice! I wonder if the Cinder Terrazzo hets I got from VJ are siblings to yours. Do you have pics of the parents?

It's a double whammy for the belly pattern, since cinders tend to have the split/reduced belly checkers and the rosy rats from the original granite Boyd line lack belly checkers as well.
