That kind of does it for me... I understand a little better what the issue is. It is sort of an eye sore. I'd be saying that even if it were a dome or another type of monument... it sticks out like a sore thumb from what might otherwise be a quite lovely vista.
Is it me or are the proportions way off what a 'traditional' cross normally is?
Not that it matters one way or the other, it is what it is.

No,it's not just you. That's the first thing I noticed about it. The top of the cross is way too short.

I said before that I felt like I was treated like I was stupid around here and I was told that nobody thought that way about me and that I was comparing myself to a black person?(that one still confuses me)

Let me explain my comment in simpler terms. You frequently say no one believes you are intelligent because all they see is your blond hair and boobs. I said, to paraphrase because I'm not going to go looking for the original quote, I highly doubt people here are so bigotted that they think all big-boobed blonds are stupid. It's like how (some) black people blame life's injustices on their skin color. Only not to such an extreme. In fact, I bet you being less intelligent (and I am not saying you are, I don't believe that for a minute) because you are blond and buxom probably doesn't cross anyone's mind here at all. But if you really think we think that, maybe you should stop re-enforcing the idea. Take the little blurb under your avatar for instance.

your [Roy Munson's] comment of "Welcome to planet Earth. Please enjoy your stay." pretty much was a smart-butt way of saying "you're stupid".

I believe Roy Munson meant that that is the way of the world. Work, forums, clubs, anywhere people are grouped together, there are "beloved" people who are perceived, rightly so or not, to have more privileges, to be treated more gently by the management, than others. At my work, I call them "pets," and curiously, they all happen to carry bibles under their arms. Probably just a coincidence...

Actually, the little blurb under my avatar is something that TandJ called me a long time ago as a joke. So,I put it there as a joke. That's not reinforcing any ideas unless he really truly meant that as an insult(which he didn't I'm sure because he's called me it again recently) and in fact I never took that as claiming anything other than I'm a blonde chick(which I am as of right this moment). I'm talking about comments such as the above mentioned(Welcome to planet Earth. Please enjoy your stay.) Last I checked I knew exactly where I was and I know what that statement is implying. Wanna hear something frickin' hilarious!? I'm dying my hair black tonight. So there will no longer be "some blonde chick" until I get bored and dye it back. I have my reasons for believing what I do and they may be my own personal reasons but I am certainly not trying to re-inforce the idea that I am the typical stereo-type at all. Funny how you took my blurb to mean me demeaning myself when in fact I didn't take it as demeaning at all.

Min, does this mean that we'll be reading "some black chick" under your avatar tomorrow?

Because that would be, like, real confusing. :p

Well, black hair will be a new direction for you! It will either make your eyes look bluer and darker, or it will make your skin look really pale and pasty, but you won't know until you do it! You are young enough to pull it off though, when you get older if you go darker it always seems to accentuate the sallow skin and wrinkles....Good Luck!

Hey, Dean, here's a serious question. I've been a bit free with the "sanitized"(?) versions of ...um... salty(?) language, e.g., referring to myself as a "crusty old ba**ard". I've done so with a bit of trepidation. There's no doubt of exactly what letters go in the asterisks, so no doubt of what the word actually is. Also, I'd never use anything like it in referring to anyone else, just myself (because that one's accurate!) Is that ok? Stepping over the line? Treading close to it? Not anywhere near, because it's far too cute and amusing when I do it, because it's me, after all? I would never try any tricks with words that are universally considered profanities (too conservative to do that in public, despite how much I swear in private)), but what say you to this? Thanks!

Well, I don't consider "bastard" to be profanity. But I only speak for me. So for me, it doesn't break the rule against profanity. Name calling, even when it isn't profane, is against the rules. But if you call yourself a non-profane name, and it isn't reported (and it wouldn't be), you're safe from me. ;)

Well in that case, he is one lucky bastard!

(What?)

So Beth, are you saying that Mindy is shallow and wrinkled? That is kind of harsh.

Mindy, I have to tell you that on this one I am siding with Nanci. How on earth am I supposed to know that you have big boobs and are blond? If you didn’t label yourself as such I would have no way to know. I can see from your avatar that you are probably blond and your blurb does give it a way. On that subject, how on earth were we supposed to know that TJ called you “some blond girl” a long time ago and that is what you are referring to with you “blurb”.

Welcome to the planet earth is an expression used by many and simply means that is the way things are here. It makes no reference to your intellect or lack there of.

You know we all form opinions about each other based on what we know. In real life, on the planet Earth, we can use appearance as a factor in the formation of those opinions. On the Internet we are limited to what people say. How they react to different stimuli, and what they think about different subjects. I think you can get a pretty good feel for people here even without visual input.

Without any considerations given to the color or your hair or the volume of your mammaries, My personal opinion dear Mindy is that you may not be the brightest candle in the church.

For the record...yes, I complain about some of my mod duties...the really stupid annoying ones...the frivolous reported posts that send 3 e-mails to my personal mailbox for every time a single post is made in the Moderator's forum...the 90% of the reported posts that for some strange reason, only get reported after I've gone to bed and are there to great me first thing in the morning when I'm already pressed for time getting children ready for school and myself ready for work.

And if you think Dean has only complained about his mod duties twice, you just haven't read too many of the posts he's made in the line of his mod duties.

And also for the record...I have tried to resign my position as moderator at least once, but was not allowed to, so you are all just stuck with me, like it or not.

Wade darling,
I am saying that Mindy is young enough so that she might possibly be able to pull off looking good with black hair. She also has very nice skin, and with black hair that helps alot.

On the other hand, I would never ever dare try it myself....I am wayyyyy too old and black hair on me would have me looking like such a hag!!

#1 I didn't complain to a mod because it wasn't said on this site AT ALL. Wasn't aware you could do something about phone-calls to my home. Next time,I'll report it? I mean, can you go ahead and give the cops a ring for me? No? I didn't think so.

I assumed that because you brought it up HERE, and you decided to use it as ammo against the mods HERE, that it happened somewhere HERE. I'm happy that the incident happened elsewhere, because that means it doesn't involve me at all. Take care of your own Internet crap, and keep it away from HERE.

I said before that I felt like I was treated like I was stupid around here and I was told that nobody thought that way about me and that I was comparing myself to a black person?(that one still confuses me) and yet your comment of "Welcome to planet Earth. Please enjoy your stay." pretty much was a smart-butt way of saying "you're stupid".

I only meant to point out your apparent naïveté (as if that was necessary).

This is also not the first time I've been told to "go elsewhere". Why? Because I don't agree with something? And I never said anything about the moderators as a whole. Anywhere. I've just noticed that Susan does like to complain a lot about what being a moderator entails. If I really felt that something I was doing for free was THAT frustrating or THAT much of a PITA,I certainly wouldn't do it.

Susan's my teammate. I support her, even when I don't agree with her. Why? Because I need her support even when she may not agree with me. AND I like her. Not a good reason? Well, she's my friend, and we don't have to agree on everything. You may have missed a point I made earlier. I'll try to be a little less subtle. You've been very public about some of your own incomprehesible life decisions. They may not make sense to ME, but I won't judge, because I don't have all the details. Give Susan (and I) the same consideration.

Especially not when I'm doing it on my own time free of charge. However, that's JUST MY OPINION. I was genuinely asking questions and asking for clarification and you took my questions and answered them in a manner that made it seem as if I was being sarcastic or not serious when in fact I was very serious. It is extremely confusing when there is a moderator team that does not follow the rules all the same. It's confusing when one mod will tolerate certain behaviour while another will not.

Sorry-- there isn't much I can do about that. The admin didn't clone himself when the team was elected. Reasonable adults can assess the vague boundaries and safely navigate them. Some of them have navigated situations with vaster gray areas before (e.g., marriages, parenthood, employment). If they want to regress to toddlerhood here, then they can accept the consequences of multiple authority figures who are not perfectly synched.

Oh and I do not need a mod to protect me from myself. Never have and have never requested that one do so for me.

Excellent!

Mindy, I have to agree with the others here. If you weren't constantly crying that you feel so belittled on this site, and then having the audacity to say that you're viewed as a bimbo, well...you wouldn't be viewed as such. You say you want to be deleted, you cry that you're so misunderstood, and then you rant that you're not taken seriously. Which do you want? My boobs are bigger than yours...so what? Have something to back it up. Yours will be dangling around your knees before you know it, too.

Alright, maybe I'm just holding grudges from the old 18+ group and that's where I'm getting it from. It's how I was constantly referred to. Maybe it just stuck with me and I'm being petty. Maybe I really am just that stupid and am not "the brightest candle in the church". Maybe I think I'm more intelligent than I really am. Perhaps my IQ scores and school grades just gave me a big head and tricked me into thinking "Hey! I'm intelligent!" Stupid Schools! Perhaps if I got drunk and spammed the boards with my own childishness, then I would finally be able to prove that I'm a smart cookie. Whatever. Either way, thank you Wade for making me feel about the size of a flea. I had always heard you're pretty good at that and am happy to finally get to be the target this time. I'm fully aware of how the world works. Probably more aware of how the world works than any of you would even possibly guess. That's why I didn't need the sarcastic remark from our lovely Dean. It only served to humilate. Otherwise,it wouldn't have been said in that manner. But, what the hell do I know? My candle just isn't bright enough I guess.

Clarification, not humiliation, was my intent. Judge not lest ye be judged.
