Happy & pretty relieved!-wanted to share(not corn-related) :)

Yay, glad it helped!! There is another trick you can keep in the box for future attempts..not sure how well it will work on other species, but a chondro guy I know heats up egg yolk until it's just starting to get set up and then dips the pinky in that. He said it gets finicky green tree python babies to eat quickly. Haven't tried it on my babies as one has already taken a meal and all three are in blue so none want to try. Didn't work on my non feeding cornsnake babies, but who knows, it may work on other python species. Something to keep "in the bag of tricks" so-to-speak. Super hot water though is easy no matter what and doesn't take much work to get it that way.

I have some updates--- #1:Turns out 'Beyonce' is a boy! lol we had him probed at Repticon--so,his named changed to Captain Morgan due to one of his 'alien heads' looking like a person w/ an eyepatch :) #2:I am VERY excited to say that he had his first perfect shed all by himself tonight!!!! We have had to help him alot the past 2 sheds, went to check on him & saw him all nice & freshly shed-woot! I am so amazed at his progression since July,it doesn't even look or feel like the same snake.I'm so glad we didn't just leave him to die-he is so sweet,& hasn't turned down a meal since August :)

Thank you! :) I am happy to share this happy ending story,we didn't have much hope for him in the beginning,he felt like a limp noodle :( I guess we should've taken pictures when we first got him,but honestly,we just didn't see him making it. I also thought he would hate us for force feeding him,but he's never shown the slightest aggression-simply amazes me how he has changed! I told him more than a few times when we were force feeding him that I wasn't just gonna' let him die so he better decide to just eat on his own---yes,I talk to my snakes--I'm just glad he 'listened' LOL :)

Wow, what a nice 'ending'. I read the first page of this thread and looked at the picture you posted where he was so skinny, and then I jumped to the last page and now he looks awesome!

:dancer::dancer:Motley - it's so great what you have accomplished with Repticon and helping the pet shop,

I have applied at all of our local pet shops because I believe I'm knowledgable and I'd be a great employee to make sure animals are taken care of right. There are no openings, I've called them all after I applied.

You have done a great job with a gorgeous bp, he looks so nice now. You're a life saver :dancer:

Thanks ya'll! :)
schnebbles>from what I've seen, pet stores are definately in need of folks who actually know & care about animals for sure! so good luck!~*fingers crossed* for ya' :)

took a new pic of Captain Morgan 1-6-12--when I look back at the first pic I can't believe he was so tiny! It's hard to believe we were having to force feed him pinks just a few months ago & now he's eating small adult mice like a champ. He hasn't refused a meal in a long time & has shed the past 2 times with no help at all from us! :)

OMG. I love what you have done with that guy.
I lost a baby ball recently... I thought maybe it was due to it not feeding ever. I tried everything. Your guy was so much skinnier. It made me feel like my guy was just not meant to make it.
I am glad you saved this guy.

Well, Captain Morgan just had his 3rd perfect shed with us-yay! He's now weighing in at 280 grams--here he is now-so different from the skin & bones we brought home last summer--
