i have another tank but its alot smaller should i feed in there soo i dont get bit? the only problem i see is that its really small (10 gal) and i dont wanna leave him in that smaller tanke for soo long seems really cramped

I'd never feed in the tank-I always use a separate container.

Sorry for my off topic outburst.

How dare you post something that could be so useful? Sawsehel is right! You can choose to worry about the risk of getting bitten or not by feeding in the tank. The thing that you really need to avoid, however, is ingestion of substrate. It can lead to impaction (read: BLOCKAGE) and a dead snake. Feeding in a separate container on paper towels is much safer in the long run.

I now return you to your regularly scheduled flame-war....
 
First point - can it with the flame war crap. If anyone wants to play that game, go elsewhere.

Second point - about hide boxes. NO it is not universally accepted that corn snakes need or like hide boxes. Many times I have had corns go off feed when I would put a hide box in with them. Put the box in, they stop eating. Take the box out, they begin to feed again. In many other instances I have had them completely ignore it and refuse to use it at all. Yes some definitely like them, but certainly not ALL of them.

They are all individuals. Just as you cannot say that all human beings like pizza, football, sitting on a couch, or laying in a hot tub, corn snakes will have their own individual preferences.

Don't take generalities as being absolute laws.
 
Wow thats really interesting...i never really thought a corns feeding would be affected by having a hide box. definitly a little suprising...but i guess i can understand it and its only normal that their is an individual type of corn on every end of the spectrum, no matter how extreme.

Oh and by the way, let's be honest here...all humans do love hot tubs.
 
Btw- throw a few paper towel rolls (those cardboard thingies) in the tank. I got a fancy hide from the store and my snake always goes for the roll, I've tried moving things but he likes the roll. Enjoy your snake! He's beautiful! :)

i dont like hot tubs, but anywho my snake only likes 1 hide she dont like more then that. and she barly ever in it she likes to sleep in her fake ivy. i had a log in there but she dident like that eather. so its what the snakes like. and they do have feelings. my snake likes her fake plant the most though

What in the HECK are you talking about, Jicin??? I NEVER sent you a private message, let alone a nasty one! The only thing I did was return the "bad reputation" points favor that you first honored me with. If you don't want people to give you negative reputation points, then maybe you shouldn't bother giving them any. Turnabout is fair play...Except I never posted any lies about you.

I gave you a negative point for your reaction to me *days* ago. However, you gave it to me this morning. Really 4 days after Rich Z told us to stop fighting, and 5 days after it became quite clear i didn't mean it badly as you interpreted it.

I really don't see the need to add a really rude message to it. Personally, i don't care about rep points. You do. I also don't understand why you are trying to anger me. We were done fighting for days, and suddenly this pops up. Why are you trying to trick me into posting an angry message again? I think i clearly stated i'd stop with biting to baits. Still, you obviously are still trying to...

Still, i think it's nice to see how some people are doing there very best to provoke me when the forum isn't looking.

btw, this is the last i say about it. I hope nasty, provoking message will be stopped from now on. Doesn't really matter if there PM or attacked to rep points. Comes down to the same. People go in provoking me while beeing so nice on the forum to me.

Rich has taken them away now so it is pretty irrelevent, thats a shame in my book, they were fun....but we are lucky to have this forum, so fair play to Rich it is his call .
 
Sorry she attacked you CornCrazy, that was me who left the same nasty message to her that she left to me. As for it being days ago, I'm obviously not as worried about my points as she is because I only checked things yesterday for the first time and saw the ridiculously rude and nasty message attached from her.
 
JT...no need to apologize. She meant the post for me, I'm sure. I did retaliate against her...just like you did. I also wasn't worried about my points because I didn't check them until DAYS after she left me a hateful note with the negative points she left for me. I probably should have left it alone, but it kind of ticked me off and I let her goad me into returning the negative points.

I rarely ever gave negative points because I didn't feel the need to give them simply because others may have had a different opinion from mine. I felt that negative points basically should have only been given to people if you had a bad transaction with them...not because you disagreed with them about the chosen method of caring for your snakes.
