All three of my tubs are set up pretty much exactly the same. They all have the same substrate, waterbowls, leaves, and coconut hides. And then they each have their own special unique "cool side" hids.

Here is my little Raider hiding while in blue...

He was shy in this one..

Here is the label from one of my tubs if that helps any at all...

Red is definitely too cute in that first pic.... I love it when they're still tiny! So cute!

And Raider looks so cute in blue too :D Can't wait to see those post-shed pics... I have a feeling his red saddles will just pop! Hmmm... Now you've got me wanting to document Ninja's blue phase :sidestep:

OMG! That is def. some nice blue!!!!!

I was looking at the plain-jane sterilite boxes...but saw the latching ones like yours...you like them?
I may go with those...maybe a 20-something qt one for now....
And ditto on the rack dilemma....I am just nervous to start...lol

I've got latching ones like Andrew. I like em :) They give me more peace of mind than a normal "snap and go" kind of lid......

Haha thanks. I sure do like my babies :)

Yeah I like them alot. They work great. The only thing is since they are so long that the lids are kind of easy to push up in the middle (at least to me?) so I have bungie cords around the middle of each of mine. But then again that may juts be the paranoid side of me taking over...

Better be safe than sorry! I don't think you're being paranoid at all, you're just being a safe-thinking snake daddy! I would probably do the same anyway.....

I think the lids on the plain jane ones are harder to get off unless you are holding the whole tub down, as you pull up...so I will probably go with those...:) Pics tomorrow...
And I won't have a new feeder setup...I have the mice in a 5gal...and I am going to put the ASFs in the 10gal that is now vacant (was the BPs)....but I will snap some shots of the snake tubs for ya :)

What does ASF stand for?
How much do you think it would cost to start up a feeder colony? I have an empty 20L and an empty 10g that used to be Red and Raider's before they got put in tubs....
I think I only wanna use the 10g though..think that would be sufficient?

Oh and Josh...I def think you should get your BCI back so I can live vicariously through you and pictures...or send him/her to me.... :D

I want a BCI soooo bad....

But I am forcing myself to wait till after I get my own place all by myself with no roommates.
Which wont be until at least August 2010... I already signed a lease on an apartment with three roomies...

I think I am going to look at a baby-baby boa...I got mine when he was already 4ft long...so missed out on the growing :(

But the feeder colony:
Go to a petstore that will sell you a male female pair. Don't tell them you are going to breed them...you may have to go on different days...about $2.50 a piece.
Water bottle/water bottle protector cuz they chew on it....about $8 total.
Glass/Ceramic food dish...you can use pot bottoms from the garden section...$0.50
Tank....you already have
Bedding...Walmart has decent sized bags of Aspen for under $4.
If you use the 10 gal you can keep a 1.2 or 1.3 colony in just that. You will need a way to "put down" the babies though, because even when you have 4 corns you will get a bunch of pinkies :)

I imagine I'll average a litter a month from each of my pairs...which is about 20-24 pinkies....PLENTY for my snakes...I am stocking up right now, and going to give some to my little bro....

ASFs= African Soft-Furred Rats....natural food for the BP...but since I don't have one now, I will feed to my corns too...the sizes are the same compared to reg. mice...except a reg. mouse may give birth to 1-2 gm pinks...an ASF may give birth to 3-4 gm pinks....after that though they are the same.
