The shading looks fine to me. The wings are facing opposite each other, so on one wing the shading is on the underside and on the other wing its on the back. Light would hitting them differently so the shadows would be different.

I had wanted a tattoo for a couple years, but I'm super picky. I wanted an angel, but couldn't find one I liked and wasn't completely sure where I wanted it. Then it hit me, I'll just get the wings! There are plenty more tattoos I want....
 
Just got back after another 3 hours of pain in my back.... not a lot to show for it but that side will be finished after the next session so I can finally see how the whole wing will look once it's on my back.

Ok here is mine. I uhh, had to add a censor bar. But I am proud of it. It was in the 100th issue of Skin Art and I also won a few contests with it.

Dale --> I'm loving the one on your back. What's the story behind it? Any meaning, or did you just think it looked cool? (And I agree.. Tattoo's are about as addicting as Corns!)

It's on the top wing. The shading goes out a little far at the bottom. I'll post a close-up in a sec..
 
I'm bumping this thread because I can finally post in it!! :D I got my first ever tattoo earlier today, I just took the bandage off and washed it about an hour ago. My birthday is on Sunday so this was my birthday present. There are a couple imperfections I can see (they seem to be a lot more noticeable in a close up pic than on my actual skin) but I'm going to wait until it's healed to be sure...my artist said I can come back for free touch-ups for 6 months so I'm not too worried. It's Orion's belt in case you couldn't tell. :p The color looks kind of weird right now because it's still all swollen & such but she told me it'll look much flowier/better once it's fully healed. I might have her add more color later (especially around that lowest star) and possibly fill in the star points more, but I'll wait a few weeks to decide on that.

Anyway, here it is!

Everything about this other picture is AWFUL since I took it with my phone in bad lighting but it shows the size & placement pretty well.

It's pretty simple but I love it!! I can't wait to see how it looks once it heals up. :)

I've really been thinking about my third.. I want another one sooo badly.

I have been holding out on a snake tattoo of some sort, because I can't decide what I want. Maybe I'll figure it out one of these days!:rolleyes:
