Here are a few of mine. I've got more just don't have pics of them on my hubby's lap top lol. There is def. some nice work posted here. Very cool thread!

I have been holding out on a snake tattoo of some sort, because I can't decide what I want. Maybe I'll figure it out one of these days!

I love your wolf one! I am getting a wolf one sometime, just don't know when as I don't have the money right now and if my parents knew they'd kill me, they think tattoos make people look trashy. :(

I'm right there with you... Neither of my parents particularly enjoy them but I'm pretty sure my mom thinks I'm the worst child ever for getting them. My first one was for my aunt and my mom, both of whom had breast cancer and survived. Flattering yes? Well not to my mom. She tried to talk me out of it and barely said anything about it when I showed it to her. Then she forced me to hide it from er side of the family for about a year after it was done... Almost makes me wish I hadn't had her initials on it... But my aunt's crying for an hour after she saw it made up for it.

My second tattoo she refused to even look at 'til I cornered her in the laundry room one day. Then I just got a "harumph" and a dirty look. Oh well. I like them. My body, my choice. =)

You are absolutely right about "your body, your choice". I've had people frown on mine b4 too. But oh well. My mom took me to get my first one when I was 16. lol She's got just as many as I do. Wish your mom could understand....

My first will be a memorial tattoo, with a fishing lure on top of a smoking shotgun shell all over a large airboat prop

Hey Tiffany...I love the back tat..have you ever thought of having a snake weaving through the vines? I am still chicken .... for not getting one yet!!! Every time I think I am going to do it someone says.."Man the ankle hurts the worst when you've got no meat on them bones down there." So it freakes me out a little more.

Hiya! Nah I hadn't thought of it, but hmmmmm now u got me thinking. Ya know the one that hurt me the worse was the one on top of my foot, BUT I have one on top of each foot and the other one wasn't bad at all and it even wraps around my ankle. So I think a lot of it has to do with how the artist holds their gun and how long of streaks/lining they do, and how deep they go. After awhile you just kinda go numb and you slip off into your own lil world lol They are very addictive though, so beware!!!!

I would have to say that out of the 13 or so that I have, the rib cage was the worst. I have both wrists and many other places, but then again I have _very_ little meat on my sides where those two tattoos are.

I'd imagine that would be a tender place. I was more nervous about the one behind my ear than probably any of mine, but it was probably the best one ever. Even tickled at times lol

I'm still trying to decide on what kind of rip piece I want to design. =] I'm excited. I find rib pieces to be so attractive for some reason. As long as they're well done, of course hah

I have 3 tats... this was the last one inked. A week ago Tuesday, I got the chess piece on from the "Have Gun Will Travel" (HGWT) show that aired in the 1950's.
My Dad passed away from a GBM (brain tumor) Jan 2009. He was young- barely 62. He was a HUGE fan of Paladin and had one of the most extensive collections of HGWT memorabilia in the US when he died. The symbol itself is holds a lot of meaning to me... as well as I keep my Dad near me always.

The siblings.

The first tattoo I ever got was the dragon on my right shoulder blade, that symbolizes my brother, this new addition is to symbolize my sister. I also have a paw print on the inside of my right wrist...my two best friends/practically sisters have the same one.
Hope you enjoyed them!

Japanese sleeve

I have shown my Japanese sleeve before, but I love to show it off:

After the first two sessions (7 hours total)

Third session of 4 hours:

And the outline for the next session. That is a sensitive spot I can tell you.

When life gives you lemons.....

....make lemonade.

When I first got this tat in August of '08, I was associated with a woman who got the identical image. We're no longer together.

I was never all too keen on the blue in the shading - it looked too teal to me, but I always liked the "purple side", so I decided to nudge the blue with some purple to give it more dimension, and then make the outlining a little bit bolder.

I stopped into my artist's new shop and talked to him about it last Saturday. He was more than happy to do the touch-up work, and when I asked him about price, he told me that he wants happy customers, so it would be gratis.

Here are shots of the before and after.

I think the new work just pops, as if it were embossed....

To the OP, I have a very similar tat, in the same spot. :)
I have wanted that one for a long time, & was originally going to get it on the back of my neck, but it would have been too small & lost detail, so I had it done a little bigger, & put it between my shoulder blades.
The star on my ankle is symbolic with my baby sister, who also got her first tattoos (stars) on the same day. She & I have always been pretty close, so I wanted to share something special with her.
I will be getting more ink, including adding to my star. :)

Finally got caught up on this thread! Some great work in here, as always.

I just came back from Tattoo Jam, the biggest convention in the UK.. wow it was amazing. The Greeks and Americans were especially impressive, I've never seen ink like it. I saw the best ball python tat I've ever clapped eyes on being done, bless the 'canvas' he must've only just turned 18 and it was a biiig first tattoo. I'll post pics of the best ones I saw if I remember!

Only problem with these conventions, is that you don't come back with ideas so much as wishing you had more body, to fit all the tattoos you want on it :/

I really want a tat. I was thinking of having a band around my arm, in the pattern of an adult king ratsnake pattern. And also maybe a racing tattoo on my calf.
