My first tattoo! =] Everyone, show 'em off!

I've been thinking about getting my first tattoo in two weeks.

Something small and little.
I'm thinking four little paw prints across the top of my foot.

Shouldn't cost much... But I'm worried it's going to hurt since it is on top of the foot.

I know this is going to start an addiction though, so I've been putting it off haha.

Just dooooooo it!

Tattoos are soooo addicting! I got my foot done about two months ago and I didn't think it hurt at all but everyone's pain thresholds are different.

I've had piercings and I didn't think they hurt, so I'm thinking it wont hurt me to much.
You guys are bad ! haha.

I think I will get it in two weeks, going to look around for the best tattoo artists and prices. Should be too much for a couple little paw prints though. :)

Well there is def a difference between the pain of piercings and tattoos...I know I have both. But anyways, my first tat hurt a little (lower back), the one on my upper back hurt a little more (neck bone), the one behind my ear I could barely feel, the one on my wrist stung, but the one on my arm OMG it hurt. But that's because it was so big & he finished it in 2 sessions. I will tell you tho that its not too bad if you have a high tolerance for pain! Its an experience you want to have! :flames:

I have three tattoos but only have pictures of one of them. This picture isn't that good (IMO) but it was professionally taken at the Canton Tattoo Classic earlier this month. My boyfriend is a tattoo artist and he's doing my work. There are 20 hours in this tattoo so far but she isn't finished.

That is an AMAZING piece of work, your bf is quite the artist!

He is constantly amazing me. He has work posted on facebook. He just did one Sunday, a cross, that is the size of a quarter and I was just stunned that he could get so much detail into something so tiny. Even my phoenix isn't finished we're working on an idea for a tiny one behind my ear. Actually there's about 4 more in the works but the tiny one will probably be the next. He also has huge sculptures all over downtown Canton.

Satanic Leaf Tail. I dont know if you can see it in the pic, but he has balls, so to speak. Oh look, you can see his balls!

To me, the best I can describe the pain is like someone scratching a sunburn. Different areas are going to be more sensitive. Some say it depends on how close it is to bone, the artists I have gone to say it depends on the nerves in the area. I have a celtic knot between my shoulder blades, a small star on the inside of my right ankle, & more recently, my nickname given to me by my grandpa, who passed away recently. There were some areas on my back tattoo that made me sweat, & some areas on the inside of my wrist hurt, but it was tolerable.
I want to get actual paw prints of my two GSD's & put one on each foot, but after my tat's, I'm a bit nervous about how much the filling in part will hurt. I might get an outline of a paw, with their names in it...IDK yet. :)
But I will be getting more tat's, for sure! :)

i think piercings and tattoos can't be put in the same category...pain wise. it's two different feeling and if you can deal with piercing then you should be able to deal with tattoos coz it's just the same annoyious..just longer

I have three tattoos. One on my left calf, one that takes up the whole top of my right foot and then my phoenix takes up pretty much my right leg, including my entire knee cap and wraps around the back of my calf. The phoenix wings on my thigh hurt worse then my knee cap and my foot hurt but neither were bad enough that I would not get it done again. My phoenix is still a work in progress but I have plans on getting a tattoo on my left foot.

I have piercings too and I do not think you can really compare the pain. It really depends on your level of pain tolerance. I have seen tiny women get huge rib pieces (which tattoo artists agree that is one of the most painful spots) and sit fine and I have seen a big muscle bound guy pass out getting a small tattoo on his forearm.

I'll be getting another one soon too :) Haven't decided completely on the design yet, but I keep leaning towards a Japanese style Koi fish, because I love the bright colors and how symbolic it is.

I have a friend who is an amazing tattoo artist as well so I know it will be awesome :)

I'll post when I get it though for sure! :D

For all those girls that were interested in paw print tattoos I have to say I love them! I got mine after my dog I had for 13 years passed away, so paw print tattoos are very near and dear to my heart.

Relatively new here, still, so I'll share my tattoos :)

I have mostly celtic work with one exception. I plan on getting a celtic fox on my leg, a celtic horsehead yin yang on my wrist still, and a celtic snake on my right bicep ;) Slow coming, I'm really picky and it's so hard to find a good artist down here in my area. One person has done all my stuff except one and he's exceptional but also a huge jerk and impossible to schedule with :D

Third: Celtic Horse shoes Memorial Tattoo for Red, my beloved Morgan gelding.

Fourth: Tribute to my favorite band of all time. Silly, but necessary ;)

Newest addition :)

It's a Koi fish surrounded by Asian style flowers and a couple sparrows. I love the symbolism of the Koi (Courage, Determination) and the Sparrows (Free Spirit, Beauty). It's going to be completely colored. This outline took 5 hours, so it will take a few sessions to get it finished.

Got my second one last friday to symbolize the freedom I felt when I recently moved out of my mothers house. Along with the freedom of being able to pursue the job I truly desire and just being able to live my life :)
