He's one-legged, and actually hasn't been able to stand for about a year, now. Whatever paralysed his legs, the vet never found out. But he lives in my guest bedroom, on the bed, and can get in the windowsill and guard the backyard and watch birds all day. He also goes everywhere with me- camping, hiking, etc. I think, and the vet agrees, his quality of life is very good.

Hypancistrus, you have nice gerbils. I kind of fell out of keeping small, fuzzy animals because I like my herps better. But when I see pictures of gerbils and mice like that it makes me want them again. I do have one female rat, but she is approaching middle age, and when she goes, I won't have any more rodents (except for what's in the freezer :grin01: ).

Dillbird is beautiful. I never knew pidgeons could be that beautiful, but I don't know much about pigeons except that they are pretty intelligent.

Well, you asked for it. :grin01:

Kia - my first dog and first pet on my own. The one that started it all. She's a Husky/ACD mix from the local Humane Society.

Chipper - the newest rescue. He's a GSD/Basenji.

Zam - A stray I took in.

Logan - Zam's feral son whom took a year to catch. He's come a long way.

I also have three geckos, but you said to post the non-herp pets. ;)

The other pets posted so far are very pretty!

Well, I officially gave these guys to my sister when I left for college, but they're still my babies:

Raja: Adopted along with her sister (Isis) as kittens. She's a very shy kitty when other people are around, but is very curious when no one is looking.

Isis: Miss Queen-of-all-that-lives. This picture was taken last Thanksgiving. She's sitting on the floor, debating jumping on me to get my turkey.

Puck: Can only be described as a smart-uh... butt. He loves scaring the girls and stealing the good sleeping spots, and tends to stick around the human in the room who is LEAST likely to want him there.

Unfortunately, I haven't managed to get a decent picture of any of my cooler fish. I'll work on that.

Awww, everyones' pets are so cute! That is a gorgeous beta. I love fish... though a little sore on the subject right now as I lost one last Thursday.

Here are my two troublemakers...Molly/Sally:

And the biggest troublemaker of them all - my 9 and a half year old friend...

I have several other non-reptile pets, but don't want to completely flood the thread...

LOL. They look SO cute an innocent... But better keep all cords, your couch, the carpet, wood, clothes you like... on and on and on out of their reach! Also it's best to prefer a thick lining of rabbit droppings on your floor.

But did I mention how cute they are??? :sidestep:

Zamath-

I love Zam. I tend to love bigger kitties with the calico-esque pattern.
Thanks. :D She was severely underweight when I took her in. Not so underweight now. :grin01:

AWWW! I love all the photos of the bun buns. :D

Kiska is the only non-herp that belongs to me, although my family has other dogs and cats. She's a year-old red Siberian Husky.

This dog is the coolest animal I've ever met. I don't know where I'd be without her goofy attitude to cheer me up when the teen angst starts to kick in. :grin01:

That beta looks gorgeous! Is he really that red in person or is he more of a maroon color?

Jenn

Yes, he is really that red- that was without the flash, so the color is true.

I have another male who is as teal blue as he is red, but I've never managed to get a good pic of him because he hides. The best I've managed is this one:

Here's a few of my other critters (I have lots).

My parents dog, Oliver.

Toby, my cockatiel (she'll be 5 in June)

Jake, that is a really cute pic of you and your dog!! :)

A few for the house...

My baby girl, 14 y/o last thursday.

LOL. Rabbits are adorable on the surface, but are definetly not for the faint hearted :grin01:

Wow Jake. That is a beautiful dog.

How old? My sig. other wants a husky or a malamute, when he gets the time/ space for one.

and WOW, Merlinator- perigrine falcons used to be my FAVORITE animal, as a kid. Do you actually hunt with him? I didn't even know you could own a falcon- tell me more about that gorgeous bird!!!
