President May be in Trouble

Unemployment in the US officially dropped below 8% in September, which is good news for Obama's re-election bid.

I'm interested in the Romney campaign's take on this.
And he will spend every tax dollar he can to not look bad on unemployment. Kick that can down the road at all costs. :shrugs:

How are those numbers derived that determine the "official" unemployment statistic? Are people who have just given up looking for work included?

Also, I read that article and a statement in there got my curiosity up.
Persistently poor labor market conditions led the Federal Reserve in September to announce a plan to buy $40 billion worth of mortgage-backed securities each month until it sees a sustained turnaround in employment.

Where does that money that the Federal Reserve is talking about spending, actually come from? $40 BILLION per month? I certainly do hope they aren't just going to print up that money. I can't imagine that doing any good for the inflation index.

Philadelphia, why does that not surprise me? There have been some stellar examples of why I would about just as soon send my kid to Lavender's home schooling as public school there. Well, I shouldn't say things I can't take back, but still... Not long ago I heard a black teacher in my own state telling a student he could go to jail for speaking ill of Obama. I distrust the media with every fiber of my being, but the conversation was recorded on another student's phone and I heard it played in full, so it really happened like it sounded. Of course, I had teachers as ignorant and just plain wrong in my own high school so I don't know why I'm surprised it still goes on.

1st corinthians 6:9-11.

I can pick random parts of a book too...

"Thou shalt not act as a bridge dwelling underling and raise the hackles of the free peoples of the internet. For it is unbecoming and the ban hammer will strikest thee down." 1st Autumn 17:9-11

Moving on.

I agree Chip, there has been some pretty unbelievable stuff that gets said regarding presidential comparisons. There was a fella at work that said if you spoke ill of Obama they could arrest you. Classy.

However, the fact that this particular incident happened in a public school is troubling, but not all together shocking. Wow... that is really a sad sentence. There is some scary stuff that goes on in schools. Public, private and home school are all guilty.

1st corinthians 6:9-11.

So you've got a verse saying the sexually immoral can't enter heaven. There are lots who won't get in:

Deuteronomy 23:1 ESV
No one whose testicles are crushed or whose male organ is cut off shall enter the assembly of the Lord.

Um... okay.

Exodus 35:2
You have six days each week for your ordinary work, but the seventh day must be a Sabbath day of complete rest, a holy day dedicated to the LORD. Anyone who works on that day must be put to death. (NLT)
Dang. And I work every Saturday.

Psalm 137:9

“Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.”

I'm trying to read this in a different way than "Bash your kids against a rock." My point with this has nothing to do with taking Bible verses out context, it's simply to illustrate that that's a wacky book. It promotes murder of children, homosexuals, women who have sex before marriage, and anyone who works on Saturday. It promotes slavery, stoning, and teaches that women are inferior to men. There are nice things too, but they don't balance the murder and subjugation and violence out. I was raised in a Christian home, but past are my days of basing anything I do in life off of that book. I know being kind is the right thing to do. I don't do wrong because I would feel terrible if I stole or lied or cheated someone, no need to fear going to a bad place to keep from wrongdoing. And you know what turned me from believing the Bible was the word of God, Lavender? I decided to read it cover to cover as an adult. Try that sometime.

Did y'all not read the whole passage. In verse 11 it explains that some on that list end up saved. So, as u can see God is not gonna send'em all to hell, He's gonna save some.

Some. Not all. Personally, I'd rather believe in a deity that thinks all of their believers/children/creations will find eternal peace. I think that any god petty enough to think that any of their own creations are not worthy enough to be saved isn't worth following, especially one that supposedly forgives all sins, as long as they "repent". So a convicted murderer on death row can ask for forgiveness moments before the sentence is carried out can get a free pass, yet someone who is born into a sin that they cannot control is automatically an outcast, and has no hope? What about the Christian sects who only believe that a certain number of people can get into heaven (144,000 if I remember correctly)? Every post of yours sounds more and more like you're a sympathizer/member of the Westboro Baptist Church. You know, the one who have been labeled as terrorists in several countries, and are actually banned from traveling to others. The ones who protest and picket soldier's funerals. The ones who's views of the only saved Christians are so strict, that barely 1% of the Christian population of the world even has a sparse hope of entering the kingdom of heaven.

Westboro believes that all homopervs r going to hell. I don't. God doesn't love everybody. Romans 9:13

Really? Your post on my Facebook wall that one day could have fooled me.

Also... "homopervs"? Really? I find it hard to believe that people just trying to find true love are "pervs". I also love how that's the only thing you took away from my entire post.

I've realized that while I am fond of giving advice, such as "Please don't feed the trolls", that I'm seldom good at taking advice, such as my own, for instance. Is anyone voting for someone else then they were planning on voting for, before having read this thread?
Curiously-
