How's NC. I was in Raliegh in july. Loved it. Super clean and everyone is really nice there. Southern hopitality at it's best.
 
No kidding, Em. Small world it is. If I were to ever move from the ny. NC and SC def would be considered. I lived in Charleston SC for a year.

Eric, do you have any friends? Because I can't imagine they would enjoy hearing your odd, prophet like, ancient wisdom quotes.

A lot of the folks you look down upon and have made rude jokes about, are great people. It's too bad all you can see are their faults. The same goes about me.

So I just scanned this thread, I'm too lazy to read 24 pages at the mo. First I'd like to say, I'm definitely on the 'not releasing to the wild' side of the argument. Second I'd like to say, :roflmao: this thread sure had some hilarious posts.

Something to consider before releasing a sick or deformed animal to the wild, you are not "letting nature take its course" you are altering natures course. If the animal is sick it could passes on the infection to other snakes or animals that might eat it, if it survives it takes away resources from the local population, and if it breeds it propagates defective or non native genes and alters the natural selection. The most likely scenario is that the sick/deformed snake will simply find a place to hide until it dies which is not natural either because it would not be here to begin with if it wasn't for your purchase or artificially selected breeding. You are responsible for the life and death of the animals in your care and you can not skirt this responsibility by having "nature" do the dirty work and take care of your unwanted animals for you. You may disagree but you should at least consider the reasoning behind the majority consensus and not just discount it as BS.

I've issued some infractions for the profanity. You people know better. The inflammatory posting done by many of you will cease as of now or even more infractions and banishments will be issued. I am getting sick and tired of dealing with the lot of you first thing every morning before I have to go to work. It is affecting my attitude on the job and if I have to start chopping off heads with an ax, I will not hesitate any longer to do so!

This is a discussion forum. Differing opinions are expected. However, most of us are adults and are expected to act like adults in our debates. Expect your opinions to be questioned by the opposing side. Expect to be able to back up your opinions. If you can't, then learn to shut up. Value the opposing sides' opinions as you would have them value yours. If you tell someone that what they believe in garbage, they will throw garbage right back at you.

And hiding behind your personality traits, saying that "it's just the way I am" is simply a lame excuse for lacking the ability to treat others with the respect they deserve. Yes, once certain members have dealt with you long enough to know your hidden meanings behind your statements, you can get away with things. However, many members take what you write exactly how it is written. We cannot see your little smile nor hear the inflection in your voice.

The moderators of this forum have been extremely lenient for the past several months in dealing with many of you. We have been here long enough to understand the winter doldrums and what it does to the general membership and the posting. However, it has been getting out of hand recently and it will stop! If I'm sounding like a mother hen again, I'm sorry Dean, but I've reached my limit and I'm getting the belt out.

Hah! Well, sometimes a mother hen is just what a situation needs. I just read this entire thread. Unfortunately, I didn't see this post until now. I already handed out some warnings and infraction points myself. This kind of stuff needs to stop.

My response was a base and tasteless use of slang that only served to reciprocate and perpetuate the theme initiated in post #209. I should have simply walked away and ceased to engage.
I began regretting it before I went to bed, and it bothered me all night. It was rash and thoughtless and unbecoming of the person that I am, and what I truly wish to contribute to this forum.
I am sincerely embarrassed and contrite, and hope to rekindle everyone's trust and respect. I am so very sorry.
