Man now I actually feel bad for taking part in this thread..in my defense I would like to say that all the rep points I have received (excluding any from this thread) have all been lagit points for giving advice, doing WIR, and thank yous..

that's exactly what I'm thinking...wasn't that long ago I saw a thread that said, oh look at we who have big rep points, we are soooo the wise and knowing ones...you who don't have as many rep points as I royally suck and should shut up and let we who have higher rep points do the speaking...

Hey now for a young guy he is a cutey:) I have to agree rep points have never made me think one is more intelligent than another. People tend to give them to their buds, or those who make outrageous comments, are argumentative, or degrading someone else more than those who give sound advice. Its just the way rep points seem to work on forums not just this one.

I look at (regarding corn snake knowledge), based on :
---who's been in the corn snake business the longest,
---join date, and
---based on posts, who really seems to know what they are doing.

I look at general knowledge, based on :
---'About Me' stats,
---age,
---carefully read content of posts, i.e. wisdom, understanding, open-mindedness, philosophy, etc., etc., etc.......

NOTE : the above post is subject to change, if/when someone smarter than me comes along with additional/better criteria. For now it stands.
 
"Master" is a term for a young boy too young to be termed "mister." 15 is borderline, but I would not that was completely inappropriate. of course, he's not a snake, but I assume that is a reference TO him owning snakes.

"Master" also means "one that dominates...such as animals." If he controls his snakes movements (i.e., a cage) and feeding times, he DOES dominate it. that WOULD make him his snake's master.

He may not be an EXPERT, but that isn't the only definition of "master."

In the UK I play by different rules, so I have a different name... ;)
 
Personally I'm appalled by all the whining about the rep points. It was nothing but a bit of fun, but someone has to run crying to Rich, who I'm sure could care less about the whole thing, and now we're in a collective time out. Jesus. Interesting how it wasn't a 15 year old child either.

You are showing your age, Bud. When I was in, it was who had those fruit juice soft-packs insteadd of just regular drinks at lunch....lol. Now, it's like who has the most ringtones on their personal cell phone....lol.

Excellent way of putting it! Rep points to me mean nothing, I think I've given out more the last 2 days then I've given out since I've been a member...LOL
I just don't see the need for points if your confident in what you post and have now need for public pats on the back.
