...and now he blathers on as though he is trying to teach a roomful of idiots the meaning of a new word. As if we don't know what the word "cull" means. First it was "denigrate" and now the "new word for this lesson" seems to have changed. Ugh.
 
Starsevol, I am changing tactics with you as nice does not seem to work with you. All it gets me is more sarcasm, denigrating remarks, and the like. Nonetheless, you new lesson is called... You're not making any logical argument that is worth listening to. No, I don't care that you don't like hybrids. I don't even care that you are condescending to me. I think it is really rather pointless as my personality is not built to respond in the way that a bully type might like. Not, that I am calling you a bully type, I am merely pointing out the obvious and that is that your tactics of belittling another when you have no real point to be made is one that bullies tend to use. Food for thought. You can be the better man that I know you are deep down inside or you can continue down the path that you are going. A man is not his actions, but a series of actions repeated does give insight into a mans character. I'm giving you a chance to redeem yourself. Use it or don't, but regardless I'm just fine either way.

Answer me this...why was that whole culling thread worded as though your audience are idiots that have no clue what the defination of culling is? People do not like to be talked down to, and just as you see MY posts as denigrating, bullying, insulting, what-have-you, I see YOUR posts as though you view yourself a teacher to us all. It is like you feel you are talking to a roomful of morons. Do you really think we needed a definition for the word "cull"? Seriously??
 
Starsevol, for you argument to carry any weight it would have to mean that this was your first action of belittling another on this thread. As it is not.... repeated actions carry accumulated weight. Enough said, I am done with you personally as you are not giving me anything worthy of debate.
 
As for the way I talk, I always tend to talk as if basic things are not understood as often times they are perceived differently even if similarly by different people. I am talking to a forum of people of varying levels of understanding, not just you. I have much to learn about many things, but if I don't talk in a manner that is simplistic enough for a third grader to understand then I know it is very easy to be misunderstood. I am simply trying to speak in a manner that is comprehensible to every level of understanding that may encounter this thread. In short, I am not writing for your benefit solely.

Okay, let me explain again in a manner that is perhaps comprehensible to you since you like sarcasm so much.
If I talk in a manner that is comprehensible to someone say... grade 3 and up... then there should be no misunderstandings as most of this forum is at least at the educational level of a 3rd grader or above. Am I wrong in this assumption? I have good reason to believe that kids may in fact be on this forum reading these very posts as I was told in an infraction I received for harsh language that this was so. I find it irresponsible to talk about any subject in a manner in which it is not easily comprehended by any potential reader of the subject matter. Now, with that being said, I realize I may fail miserably at this at times, but you certainly can't blame me for trying to reach everyone with a post. In short, don't take everything so personal. Not every post is directed for you, althought, this one was Starsevol.
 
Now beth cull can be taken 2 different ways one meaning to kill off unwanted animals. the other to just sort out of the collection

People do not like to be addressed as though they are brainless fools. And I think that gets right to one of my huge issues with you. The remark I made earlier about my brain shutting down in sentence 3 of one of your lengthy diatribes, about how you speak as Charlie Brown's teacher wah wahs away ....I think it has to do with how your posts make me feel. You word your posts as though you think you are the brightest thing in the universe and everyone else is a dimwit. It is very irking.
 
You know, I haven't thrown a "fella" comment around for quite a while, so how about you all making an effort to make this conversation more civil so I don't have to do so now. I'm not about to read back to find out who said what and who started what, so I will just have to put as many people as necessary on the bench for a few days if I have to.

Yeah, some people like hybrids, and some people don't. Big deal. Live with it and move on. It's not a taboo topic here, but personally derogatory comments towards other members ARE.

I have been on this forum everyday for....7 years next month. I know many many people from here, and I have to tell you that just about everyone here I has what I would consider above average intelligence. Much more so than the people I know in my everyday life.
You might consider wording your posts to reflect that. If someone has trouble understanding you at some point, or if something is unclear, I am sure they will ask what you meant.
Better than treating people like morons, doncha think?
 
Well said Vinman! Culling is defined differently by different groups of people. It often depends on which group of hybridizers you are talking about even who you are talking to within that group. The same thing can be said of the word species. There are many definitions of specie. My favorite definition:"The biological species concept defines a species as members of populations that actually or potentially interbreed in nature, not according to similarity of appearance. Although appearance is helpful in identifying species, it does not define species." From the university of berkeley. Now, you may have heard of them Starsevol. Using that definition for species.... a lot of hybrids that you might consider hybrid are actually not hybrids at all. Food for thought. Species is a man made concept and when you acknowledge that fact then you realize that so is a hybrid. Getting further into that logic, you discover genetic drift and realize.... hybrids are always influencing genetic so called purity and therefore genetic purity is a myth in any real sense. You have been sold a fairy tale when you think you can get something pure this or pure that. Yes, I say it as it is as I don't mince words when it comes to science. Your not pure Homo sapien either by the way. Your constantly in a state of evolution and your ancestors were not Homo sapien. Deal with it, we are none of us pure anything.

Its not about treating people as morons Starsevol. Don't take everything so personal. I get your feeling and I can sympathize with it. I try to write for all audiences. Everything is not about you. It is much better to over simplify then to leave some members thinking... gee, I'm dumb... or worse, yeah I get it, but in reality.... nope... not really.
