stupid breeders why cant you just leave things be

So, I am certain our paths must have crossed as I drove down to shands hospital everyday for 4 months+. The drive was about an hour for me. Many times, I could not see my daugther so I would go to that little reptile shop and look at the hybrids. I'm not even certain the fellow who owned the shop even showed the hybrids to everyone, but as I was an avid hybridizer... it comes off in how I talk... he pulled them out of his hidey hole so to speak and showed them to me. It was the second beginning of my love of corns. My first love of corns started many years earlier when one of my delinquent cousins used to take me on snake hunting expeditions.
 
I was researching this one. I'll probably bring my daughter to this one as its less than 30 miles from the house.

Do you ever hit the NC reptile shows?

There is one in Raleigh next week. The Carolina Reptile & Exotic Animal Show That's a great one for families. Loads to see with the reptile show and flea market.

Must have been Snakes. Now under new management and renamed Pangea Pets,or something. There is also now Hogtown Reptiles. BUT- there was a reptile shop on Newberry Road that disappeared, maybe it was that?

It's a great one for kids. They have a good selection of reptile vendors, but they also have a petting zoo. Pony rides, camel rides all safe and indoors.

The after hours USARK auction at the Ramada, is not so kid friendly. We tend to get a bit boisterous and drunk, but the money raised goes to a good cause.

Yes, I remember there being a couple of reptile stores as well. This one was the closer of them though if memory serves and there was a movie theater extremely close by. Also, an eatery, but we are talking many years ago and my memory really can't be trusted with such fine details from so long ago. The shop was rather small, the one that had the hybrids. The others I remember as being a bit bigger. Still, my general attraction to hybrids made the smaller store more memorable for me.

So, your saying the after hours is more like a military function with grog and such. I can dig that.
 
I have been at a reptile expo 3 weekends in a row so far, next weekend is #4. We get lucky this time of year here.

With that being said, my lingering sinus infection has gotten the better of me, and I'm calling it a night.

To new friends and old, comedy is simply a funny way of being serious. Fact. :p
 
OK, everyone has made nice and I have just read several pages of off topic posts. How about moving it to "DYK" before He Who Utters "Fella" pulls over and admonishes us all? For the newer members, "DYK" (Do You Know) is a long thread in a subforum all it's own that is sort of like a chat that you don't have to be present all the time to participate in.
