Well, it was a little short and I would have accompanied such a correction with a tnx to someone posting nice of you. At the other hand, most of your posts are quite short so I might have known...

Hey, but the triple negative does make sense...

And your quadruple is not four in a row, you cheat!

But Serp, I do think loads of people call their amels with thick white borders but with a very pale background also reverse okeetee or their normals with thick borders but not really orange background (uh... me) okeetee phase... I think you don't support that too? It is accepted by lots of people....
There is no on/off dividing line for sunglow. It's like saying "tall." How tall does someone have to be to say they are tall? Five feet? Five foot six? Six feet? Seven feet?

You are correct, I tend to aim for high standards on the selectively bred stuff. I think that lowering the bar in order to call one of one's own snakes by a certain name is self-destructive.

If you call a bunch of normals "okeetee" then everyone will see how crappy your okeetees are and won't be interested in yours.

If you keep your standards very high, then whenever you (or someone else) posts a pic of what you call an okeetee, it will gain you a reputation for making very nice examples of that morph. If I'm looking for a miami, I will go to Carol or Frank. Why? Because they don't post crummy examples and call them miamis anyway, just because the snake might fit some "technical" definition that allows them to argue, "well, some might call it a miami..."

So, if one wants to lower their own standards to make themselves feel better about an individual snake, it's their choice. But at the same time they should expect that (at the least) there will be plenty of people making a mental note to themselves, "that person has crummy taste/crummy snakes" and will not put any value into that person's opinions... and probably others who will express differing opinions about that particular snake. :santa:

Wow, I missed a lot of crap while I was driving home from work and thawing mice!

No one will ever have to worry about me banning them because I would never, ever, want to be a forum mod. Thankless volunteer work ain't my thang.

Y.O.N.: You might want to tone it down a bit. I still don't understand what you're so worked up about. When I first got back into corns, I bought a gorgeous normal that I thought looked borderline Okeetee-phase. Wishful and delusional thinking, I guess. I'm only human. Well, she really wasn't, but I think she looks as good as any Okeetee anyway. Are you planning on being the Queen of Sunglow Breeders? If so, I advise you to buy a number of them, and breed the ones that turn out best. If not, why do you care if this is a sunglow?

becuase my favorite snake is the motley sunglow, i couldnt find anywhere to buy one, so i bought both a sunglow and motley, im going to breed them, keep back a male and female babie, breed them when ols enouth and i SHOULD have my little motley sunglows.

You will need a sunglow to start off with :grin01:
