Old thread, I know... But I too have a beta obsession, and loved this thread! So I thought I'd add mine. I've been able to keep it down to one beta at a time, which is amazing for me, since I'm definitely an impulse-pet-buyer. If I can take care of it, and take care of it RIGHT, I will eventually own one, haha.
Here's Sushi Fish...
He's a 1gallon tank, with a window rock and some plants that he loves to hide in. He's a pig when it comes to eating. I've only had him for about a month. I do a 2 week cleaning, and a 1 month full water change. My beta's have always lasted
over 2-3 years, and who knows how old they are when I get 'em, so I'd say they last a good while with me. I always pamper my animals.
I've also had hermit crabs in my days. I fell in love with them years ago, and had 20 at one point. They're very sensitive animals though. They stress a lot, and their molts can go very wrong for any reason, which always made me sad. And they are wild caught, which is sad, but it's almost impossible to create their natural breeding enviroment. People have tried with little success. I'll try to post some of my hermits when I get onto my desktop.
