Nice..I am sure it beats sitting in 10 degree weather with a wind chill below zero. That's the only real drawback to whitetail hunting...And when you are in a treestand on a little bit of a windy day! Oh man is it cold!

Heh heh heh...

The best waterfowling days...are the absolute WORST weather you can find...
Freezing rain...sub-zero temps...mud up to your armpits...or ice...flooding...hail...tornados...and DUCKS AND GEESE!!!!

Aww now I feel bad! Personal choice and all that.
Have just come on here noticing two whole pages extra on the thread (got excited, lol) and was all upset there are no pictures just guns and shooting aminal talk :(

I understand...tryed to tone it down...
But we get all full of testosterone and get excited...and beat on our chests and swill beer...LOL

We will find another place to vent...I promise...

Maybe I will even post a pic to retrieve the validity of this thread...LOL

How about we talk trap shooting instead? That's pure action, never get bored, the weather is usually better, and no feathered or furry things are harmed in the making of a post. :uzi:

I am going trap shooting this weekend...

I have a pallet (yes I said PALLET) of clay pigeons at my dad's farm...
Can't wait to get out and shoot...

Although...whenever we trap shoot...SOMETHING usually dies....

not trying to be abrasive but....

So let me make sure I understand correctly, everyone should stop their conversation (in the general chit-chat forum) because they are talking about a subject that you don't want to read about? Couldn't you just stop reading?

I don't see what the problem is. :shrugs:

I was waiting for that. The point was that the pretty pictures thread had been hijacked. Though yes in my opinion, it was not by summing very nice.

Heavens knows the chit chat is getting too general around here, you guys. Cut it out.
Yeah, Tiff, Carmen is out of school March 20 for a week. Maybe we could get together and catch or kill some things.

So those that did enjoy the thread should be denied their enjoyment in order to appease the lone dissenter? What good is the ability to post freely? I'm sure there is someone that disagrees with every post on every thread on this entire forum.

I you don't like it, don't read it. That is the true beauty and the simplicity of free speech. :)

I sometimes forget that not everyone shares the same hobbies as I do. I can sit and talk hunting/fishing till i am blue in the face.

I'll try to refrain from adding anything else to this post.

If anyone is interested, they can go to http://www.alexhuereptiles.com and look in his forums. There is a section in the members corner that is called "ken's corner" it is filled with many hunting/fishing and general outdoor threads with lots of pics. That way we don't turn this thread into something that people don't want to read and or see....

I agree if you don't like something you don't have to take any notice of it, but in this case you can't know before reading a 'pictures' thread that pictures won't be in it and shooting will!
Jeebus. I could understand if I'd started shooting my mouth off about it or acting all holier-than-thou but I haven't.

Huniting IS nice...

All those poor animals would overpopulate and STARVE...we hunters keep the numbers in check...and do it in a humane fashion.

Besides we are the number one source of funding for conservation programs in the United States.
We protect more wildlife than anyone else.

If you think hunting is cruel......

I encourage you to take a tour of the Tyson Chicken processing plant.....or the Oscar Mayer pork processing plant....if either of these companies would even let you near their slaughterhouses.

That said, I'll refrain from any other hunting/shooting posts, or the direction this thread has taken, unless provoked - and I've got thick skin.

So, to dovetail from hunting to the pictures, here's my Lab (yes, a hunting dog) when he was a pup.

(I am the King of Segues!!)

regards,
jazz

I agree 100%.
Honestly, the gun I was inquiring about will be mostly used for clay birds (skeet, trap, sporting clays). However, unless you are a Vegan, it is very hypocritcal to call hunting cruel. Alias is right as well, hunters do fund huge amounts of money for conservation. Don't judge all of them because a few are wasteful.
I am an extreme animal lover, but I have also seen what happens at meat processing plants and have to pass by Harris Ranch's "cow concentration camp" everytime I visit my grandma. Trust me the food on a hunters plate has suffered a lot less than the food you and I eat. So if you are a vegan, sorry, but otherwise don't call the kettle black.

I think the issue is less about the merits of hunting, but rather the *unintentional* hijiacking of the thread that the original poster started. This is a matter of generally accepted message board etiquette - ie; going way off topic across a series of posts. It would be best to let this thread remain on topic (personal pics), and create a new thread in General Chit Chat on the topic of hunting. That would be perfectly acceptable.
