2009 Yahoo - Pro Football Pickem - Contest - Prizes

The Polomalu play did look pretty painful, so hopefully it's nearer the 3 week mark. He's a beast on the field, and close to being right next to my man Ed Reed on the play making ability. They still played solid D after his injury though, so I don't think this will have a monumental effect on their D for the next few weeks. I'd be much more concerned about their "run game", if you'd even call it that, that didn't even average 2 yards a carry.

Oh well... I picked them to win, so I got my use out of them. We'll just see who they play next week, and make my decisions from there.

:grin01: This made me smile this morning... a Steeler hater rooting for the Steelers. Lol. That's ok though... I feel your pain every time I have to pick the Ravens over any other team.

Free preview of NFL Sunday ticket, for those who have Direct TV. I'm watching the Eagles @ Panthers, and the Panthers are looking pretty good. I had initially picked the Panthers, who are large underdogs, but changed the Philly at the last moment to pick teams. It's only the first drive, but Carolina is having their way so far. If I had the chance to redo, I would probably give them the nod over Philly.

Go PANTHERS that's my team and I am riding on them til the end and of course I picked them over the Eagles especially at home.
 
I picked the Eagles, which was going against my gut feeling. I just think the Panthers have some inexperience at DB, and with the eagles plethora of good WR's, I thought they might have a good chance. Also, Delhome was a big ? for me, but Carolina's running game seems to be playing great (as usual), and Delhome isn't required to do much.

Great game though, and I'm glad I can get the free preview of Sunday ticket, as I would much rather watch the games that I don't get.
 
So far so good! I've won every game so far, so I hope to keep this undefeated thing going. I even predicted the two upsets, so that should separate me from those who just play it safe and stick with the favorites.

Wow... I hope I don't jynx myself, but I've only missed ONE thus far (Jets/Houston). Arizona's losing to the lowly 49ers too... Knocking on wood now...
 
I'm 8 out of 10 right now. I can't believe the Broncos actually won. LOL - I'll live, I guess. :) Hopefully the rest of my picks pan out tonight.
 
Other than the SF 13 Ari 6 score, I am right where I wanted to be. I honestly had that as a possible third upset, but just couldn't justify actually making the pick.
Arizona can still easily pull out the win, but I was a bit skeptical of the Cardinals overwhelming favoritism. They still have a very inconsistent defense and run game, and SF has Clements and Bly at CB to help curb the Cardinals WR play, so I saw the possibility of an upset. That being said, I still think Arizona will give me the W, but I thought they were overrated coming out of the gate, and SF was underrated.
 
michael, from being in last years, i learned something. Usually the first week will not count for much. i was in 4th for the first few weeks and i turned out second. So i wouldn't be counting you the champ yet.. ;)
