LOL. I was just kidding around. You know... talking guys and their toys and then finding out wifey collects KNIVES... HAD to go there for a little while. :)

That's GAME! Another good one. IF the rest of the season is like this... WHHOOOOO HOOOOO!!! 14 - 2! Hope I can do as well next week.

Yay! I finished up 13 correct and 3 incorrect. :D I finished the week tied for 7th. Not too bad. :)

In 2011, when the Pats use that first round draft pick, it will probably be somewhere in the top five, of pics! An Excellent move by Belichick, but I still feel bad for Seymour!
Another genius Belicheck move! Seymour will be missed on D, but with only a year remaining on his contract, and their probable inability to re-sign him, they just made out like bandits. Like you said, it will most likely be a top 5-10 pick, and they'll do the usual pats thing and trade down, gather picks, and draft a few great players.

You know, Wayne. I agree with you. I DO think that Wes Welker is MUCH more valuable to the team than Randy Moss. I'm sure that Randy distracts enough defenders to be giving Wes some daylight, but I think, far an away, he's the better possession receiver.
I've got to respectfully disagree here. I love Welker, he's a great possession WR, and has a motor that never dies. On the other hand, Moss is the reason Welker gets so open, and Moss brings that big play ability, and red zone threat. Without Moss... Well, they wouldn't have much threat in the red zone, or deep pass play at all. And without Welker, they could focus more on Moss. It's like a symbiotic relationship of perfectness, and I really can't pick a favorite, or determine who is more valuable. There's no value on winning, it's priceless, and they couldn't win nearly as many games without either.
NO I'm not really a Pats fan! But I DO love to watch them play, and respect them more and more each year. They have the heart and will to win, by any means, with any players. They also have, in my opinion, the best coach/manager/draft guru in the league, and most likely all of sports.

As I have said before, I think it's a symbiotic relationship. Both Welker and Moss compliment each other and that is why they are so successful. Think about it, without Welker, Moss would be double teamed and pretty much removed from the game, like what happened to TO for the most part.

Then when they turn to defend Moss, by double/triple cover him, it leaves Welker open in the slot or create screen routes!

I don't think either player, would be as good, if it weren't for the other!

Both have extreme talent, and would still be great players without one another. But they need each other to have the success that they do, and they really are the best complimentary players in all of football. I think the Fitzgerald/Boldin tandem is the best WR tandem in the NFL, but the Moss/Welker tandem compliment each other much better.

Moss can make the BIG plays, and is a sure bet in the red zone, in part due to his size, speed/agility, and ability, but also in part due to teams having to cover the inside and slots from Welker.
Welker is the perfect player, and I think his small size is a benefit to what the Pats need. He can catch the ball very low, and practically squeeze under defenders for the 1st down. I always see Welker pick up a few extra yards after contact, and that is mostly because of his size coupled with his elusiveness and determination.

Like I said... They NEED each other to have the type of success they do, and that is why I couldn't pick one over the other. Moss is more likely to break the record books, but Welker, in my opinion, is more likely to get that crucial short yardage first down to lead a team to victory. It's a two headed monster controlled by the best coach, and successful due to the best QB in all of the NFL.

I already made my picks for week 2, but I'm sure I'll make some adjustments in the coming days, as there are a couple of games that will require some good thought.
Week 2 looks to be a little more difficult to predict than last week, so I'll be surprised if anyone goes 15-1. This is where I'll need to really break down the teams, and hopefully I can come out on top.

The big ones right now are NO @ PHI - I would take Philly with McNabb healthy, but I really don't know how they'll play without him. They signed Garcia, but I'm not sure if he'll play this week or not.

NYG @ DAL - Tough game to predict. Dallas at home is pretty good, but I love how the Giants came out of the gate last week.

BAL @ SD - Another tough game. I'm a Ravens fan through and through, but SD at home might prove to be a difficult challenge, and I'm still not sure how the much changed BAL D will hold up against a really good offense.

And last ARI @ JAX - Arizona looked pretty weak against SF, and JAX is even better. But they might bounce back with a strong game... who knows?

Good luck this week y'all!

heck yeah i like my placement. i was scared on that bills game though. one point called it all in the last minutes. so glad for the one rookie run back that ended it for them.

Yeah! That was Leotis McKelvin, he's actually been in the league a year, and is one of the better returners in the league. It's kind of been a big deal on the sports stations, but I don't consider it as foolish as most. I think running it out was a great strategic move, as it would've killed the 2min warning, and given the Pats little chance at scoring even if they had made a defensive stop. I just think it was just an unfortunate outcome, but not necessarily a bad move. Not to mention, the Bills still should have held them on D but they didn't.
Great game though! I wasn't worried about the win for the pick'em league, as I figured everyone else probably picked NE anyways, but I was happy to see the comeback.

yeah i just moved from buffalo to here. and i have to say quite a few of my buddies are quite upset. i know it was right to do in strategic move. one thing that had the bills going strong was the no huddle offense. it was winding ne pretty good. to bad bills lost poluz, not even gonna attempt the spelling. even though i have met him many a times, and his mother, my aunt is a teacher with her. its still a hard name. lol. all i have to say is steelers all the way. lol.

Posluszny I believe :)! I was actually pleasantly surprised by the Bills play last night. I thought they were going to get chewed up from the inside out, and Fred Jackson had a solid game. I think the Bills are a really talented team, and are pretty set on both sides of the ball. My main concern was the offensive line, and how it would hold up against the Pats. They looked fairly good though, so that should dictate a lot. They traded Jason Peters to the Eagles, which I thought was incredibly stupid, as he is arguably the best tackle in the NFL, and they also lost Dockery too. So to see them establish a run game was shocking.
I think the Bills are close to being playoff contenders, they just need a couple more pieces to the puzzle, and Trent Edwards needs to have a little more experience under him.
