The great teams always learn how to win the close ones.

The thing with Indy is when they need the offense to step up, it does. When the offense is struggling the defense seems to be able to turn it up and pull out the game.
This is absolutely the truth... GOOD teams find ways to win... teams that just can't turn the corner, have the game dictated to them (ie Dallas, Denver, Pittsburgh - this year, etc). The GREAT teams don't get down and lay it all on the line and FIGURE out a way to win (Indy, NO, SD).

Indy has been having some close calls lately.

I agree. But that what makes them so great IMO. They always find ways to win. They were saying last night that they have 7 victories from when trailing in the 4th quarter. That's the longest streak ever in the NFL. There's probably not another team in the league that could pull that one off.

They're definitely beatable, as are the Saints. But you just can't get complacent against the Colts. Look at Houston a few weeks ago - up 17-0 and still lost at home.

Talk about exciting! The Saints are down by 7 with 2:00 to go. Fortunately Dallas just missed that FG. Let's go Saints! :D

I picked the Saints... and I AM HAPPY FOR A LOSS!!!!!!! WHOOOO HOOOOOO!!!!!! YIPPEEEEE!!!! AWESOME!!!!!!!

"What December curse????"

Sorry Saints, fans... I do offer my utmost respect. If the Cowboys don't represent the NFC this year, I'll be hoping the Saints do.

Ugh, what a bummer. At least only one person (Matthew) picked Dallas, so it's not that bad. Still...ugh. However, my second favorite team (the Colts) won this week, so it's good so far! :)

Tough lost for sure still playoff bound though. Now the unbeaten pressure will be gone and got a bye week so should be interesting

Boo!!! Go Cowboys!!!

I was rooting for the Cowboys all game, and I'm so happy to see the Saints get served. Brees showed exactly why he's not even in consideration for being on the level of Manning, and the teams streak of lucky wins has finally come out.

Yippee!!! *And I'm not even a fan of the Cowboys*.

Yeah... the ONLY bad thing about the Saints losing tonight is that the Colts now are the only ones with the GREAT BIG BULLSEYE on them for every other team to want to hit.

I'm hoping for 2 of 3 teams to make the Superbowl... Colts, Cowboys, Broncos. Of course, if the Cowboys don't get in (and they still have to win out - IMO), then I hope the Saints get in there.

Uhhhh... with all due respect, Chad... Brees (and I LOVE him), has the possibility of eventually being in league with P. Manning. But not yet. Maybe in a few years, yes, but not yet.

Brees is great... but not consistently enough for me to put him on the pedestal that some people do. I feel like that offense is much better than Brees, and he has really been the beneficiary of some hugely underrated WR's.

Brees is a top 5 QB, but some people treat him as either #1, or the clear #2 behind Manning, and I disagree. I'd say Manning is the clear #1, and it's really not even close. Then there's a gray area, in which Brees, Rivers, Rodgers, and Favre could be considered the #2 QB.

LOL. Michael, you're not putting ORTON in that group (Brees, Rivers, Rodgers, ORTON and Favre)?

J/K!!!!! :D :p :sidestep:

I agree, but I don't feel like going undefeated is as crucial for the Colts as it would have been for the Saints. If the Colts lost, I would just feel like the momentum had a temporary setback. But having watched interviews with the Saints players, I feel like they put a higher priority in remaining undefeated, than winning it all. Just my observation, but the Saints didn't seem to handle their undefeated status in a way that made a loss of little importance. By the way they talked all week, they just kept seeming as though they would handle the Cowboys, continue the streak, yada, yada, yada... and to me, the Cowboys (I feel), will have more momentum finishing the season and entering the playoffs than the Saints.

While this is true, I don't think they are seeing it as that big of an issue. I think they are the strongest team in the NFL right now, and if they do lose before the playoffs, it won't hurt them mentally.

I'm hoping to see a Saints vs. Colts super bowl, with the Colts winning. Honestly, I wouldn't be upset with either of those teams winning it. Of course I'd love to see the Chiefs go to the super bowl (at least once in my lifetime!) but that's not happening this year. It's probably not happening for at least a few more years.

Speaking of the Chiefs, I don't know if anybody has heard about it, but our game tomorrow will be blacked out locally. It will be the first time in 10+ years that it's been blacked out. It's good, though. It will show the brass that KC fans aren't going to sit around twiddling our thumbs while we watch mediocrity. It was almost blacked out last week, but at the last minute they had enough ticket sales.

what the heck, I didn't even know there was a game tonight. Well, the Saints had to lose sometime I suspected, I wouldn't have guessed against Dallas though (mostly because of my great dislike of Dallas).

Personally, I'm hoping for a Vikings vs whoever superbowl, go Minnesota!

Sounded like some jobs were on the line in dallas from what i heard. Well they played like crap first half. So maybe reality check is in order now regroup lol

You're right about the Colts. The Colts WANT the Superbowl... and even if it means losing "perfection" they're main goal is to win the Superbowl. Hence their willingness to SIT players to keep them fresh for the Playoffs and beyond.
