It's sarcasm. Google the doctors. They were experts and renowned in their fields....but got way off track. Discovered only too late for the subjects in their care.

Oh Horrors! I AM a mod (that's what my user name being green means)...but everyone seems to be forgetting the fact that the DYK thread IS STILL OPEN! Saying I would like to do something is NOT the same as actually DOING IT! I would also like to slap my boss' soon-to-be-ex-wife in the face, but I haven't done that either. I would like to tell my husband to simply shut up about a particular subject as I am really sick of hearing about it over and over and over, but again, I haven't done it. Susan, actions do speak louder than words. But in this case, in my personal opinion, what you said about the DYK thread shouldn't have been said in the first place. Comparing that thread, where friendships have been formed and people are enjoying themselves, to this thread, where as far as I can see is nothing more than a way to bash the vinman, is like comparing nectarines and potatoes. They are two completely different animals. Yes, you have your opinion on it, but like all opinions, there is a time and place to voice them. Because you are a mod, people take your posts with more weight than they would mine, and consider it an implied threat of closure. It may be a poor substitute for chat, but the chat room also has a lot of he-said/she-said third grade bull, and no one can really go check and see EXACTLY what was said. Unless there's a moderator in the chat room at all times, people can do whatever the hell they want in there, and say whatever they want, unmoderated. There's been some serious drama caused by the chatroom in the past that led to the ban of a member, yet the chat room still remains open. So why the animosity towards the DYK?

I hope you don't think of this as disrespect, because I do admire you and the moderators for all that you do and I wouldn't want the task you voluntarily undertake every day. I'm just trying to understand your point of view.
