I think I will call him Steve

I love this thread. I saw a tiny "steve-like" spider the other day and wanted to keep him because this thread has been so enjoyable. I swear the spouse threatened to have me committed. Such a buzz-kill.

You go, Steve!

19.august.2008 I removed the eggs from Steve's tub.
It was nice to see Steve back. :)
The eggs, not that many like the previous eggsacs
and they don't look that good. Or maybe it just me thinking that.

Steve's thin again. I'll give her a fly in a minute.

Rex!

Hopefully Rex will be able to live up to Steve's fascinating life and be half as photogenic!

I can't believe how much I laughed while backtracking to the beginning and then coming forward to the present regarding STEVE! Awesome job! I'm a Steve fan!

Brilliant!

This is the most entertaining thread I have seen in a loooong time! Coming from a true arachnophile, Steve is one of the most precious little eight legged... er, uh 7 legged critters I've seen! Those googly eyes just melt my heart!

I'm gonna make shirts that say "I LOVE STEVE" :D

I have a question. How many eggs can a spider lay without a male? I was unaware a spider could lay consecutive egg sacs without a male being involved each time.

02.september.2008 Here's Steve :) and some shells (from Mallorca)
No mini.steves, I don't think they are going to hatch.

How are you going to get a mini-Steve? Can you recapture one?? Steve must live on through her children!!

Steve is my favourite spider! I have stripey Steves on my wall but they are too fast to get photos so far!

When I had tarantulas (really, really large STEVE's), it was not unheard of for T's to retain some sperm for future eggs. Apparently this has happened for our beloved Steve -- until now. No more sperm, no more fertile eggs to hatch.

STEVE needs a mate!
