I think I will call him Steve

I am terrified of spiders to the point of freezing, not being able to move when I see one, but in this case Steve was so cute I didn't mind.

Oh, did you know Steve is missing a leg. I just noticed, went back and checked your other pictures and looks like you found a 7 legged spidie LOL.

Yeah I've noticed :)
But I didn't in the beginning.
I think it took me a week or so before I noticed it.

But I still think steve's cool :)

Ah, hopefully she could moult,
haven't you seen her moult yet?

I used to keep Royal Jumping spider as a pet,
a jet black with small white dots. they were cool.
They grow up to half inch, pretty big.

Oh Steve is soooo teeeny. The mini Steves must have been REALLY mini!

Yeah they were mini. Maybe I should have called them mini.mini.steve :)

As reference: The edges of the cup form a circle of 3cm. Yes, they were tiny.

This has been an awesome thread. The pics you have gotten of Steve are incredible.
Gotta love her eyes.

Thanks so much for sharing Steve with us. I look forward to future episodes of Steve the wonder spider!

I know it's late in the game, but I've just barely caught on to the Steve phenomenon! :D

I've always had a soft spot for jumping spiders; out here we get the little brown ones like Steve, and we also get Bold jumping spiders, Phidippus audax, which are of the larger variety with a black body with white spots, and green chelicerae. I always refer to them as Halloween spiders, as they seem to come around in early October all dressed up! <3

Love Steve, by the way! I hope he moults for you soon...I wonder how many clutches a jumping spider can have?
