The mice were killed humanely... not shot ~,~ And seeing those f/t mice does make me throw up.. every week.

As for the birds, I never even noticed them, glad too... dead animals freak me out ~,~

The only reason I'm no longer in school to become a veterinarian (even though I had full scholarships) was because I can't euthenize animals unless they are REALLY sick. When I was working as a VMT we euthenized many animals that people simply didn't want anymore... it was horrible, I couldn't do it anymore. This is why I no longer work as a VMT.

Aww poor Heather. Well then you don't know what I shoot for food up here. I've been doing it for 7 years. But I do it for food. I shoot bigger animals. Aka Caribou and Moose. Yummy to, Even shot a black bear, now their meat makes good jerky. But back to the puppies. Heres some of my Baby girl Peanut. My moms taking care of her. But she knows who mommy is...ME! :)
and yes on pics 2-3 that is her licking some raw moose meat.

Terri, I totally agree with you.

Heather, I mean this in the nicest possible way....GET OVER IT. I'm sure PeTA has a message board you can click away on. The fact you didn't even notice the pheasants says a lot. and when you said:
OMG tsthompson that is SO disgusting!! Warn people before you post pictures of dead animals
, how do you feel about feeding shots of our snakes downing a mouse (dead or alive, your pick)? An animals 'value' is not determined by it's size.

The mice were killed humanely so it's ok? The wild game was shot, so that makes it wrong? I'm just trying to make sure I understand. So you think that the burger or steak that you're eating came from an animal that was killed humanely? Or are you going to try to say you're a vegetarian, in which case you wouldn't condone the use of animals as food, which would make you a hypocrite for feeding your snakes in the first place. :flames:

Jazz, Bo is awesome. He's so in shape compared to most black labs I've seen, I like the athletic slimness about him, and the shine. How in the world do you pronounce his name? I have an idea, but I'd like to know if its correct. ;)

Baba, I see my dog wasn't alone in the innards licking fest. Field dressed two deer one night and Maia had a field day.

And of course, the usual off topicness....

I personally didn't find anything wrong with tsthompson's pictures. Yes the buck had been field dressed, but you couldn't SEE ANYTHING aside from a blood line on the belly. And the pheasants didn't look all mangled to me, either. I thought they were kinda pretty in the sun.

I don't live in a fantasy world and convince myself that the beef I'm having in stir fry tonight came from a "gift from God" all neatly packaged in a styrofoam tray and plastic wrap. Or that the chickens roaming in my backyard spontaneously beheaded, gutted, and plucked themselves and put themselves to bed in freezer bags in the freezer.

Most deer shots ARE quite humane, to be honest. The deer in my freezer took a lung-heart shot with an arrow and didn't run 20 feet before she keeled over. It looked a lot more serene and peaceful than cows in the slaughterhouses. But it doesn't stop me from eating beef.

That's the difference between hunters and everyone else. Most of those deer would slowly starve in the winter if the numbers weren't kept in check. People are shooting record numbers of animals, and yet more and more are born each year. Why? Because we reduce the competition and prolong the food supply.

I just hate seeing people who are so strangely grossed out by a dead animal, to be so quick to judge people about how they choose to eat/live. Who vomits at feeding dead mice to snakes? I don't usually like it when people say this sort of thing, but if it grosses you out that much, find a new hobby that doesn't involve dead rodents.

C'mon Quigs...where are ya buddy?

Taking this thread back from the attention seeker amongst us...

Here's a picture of Drew, one of my Shelties. He's a silly goof of a dog to his family and friends and a total arrogant aristocrat to anyone he doesn't know. The poor boy had just started his show career when a dislocated hip and associated surgery brought that to a crashing halt. It was heartbreaking, not only because he was so depressed through the whole ordeal but because we had planned so much with him. I guess it's how things work out sometimes...

Oh well, we love him to death anyway. :)

Here are my Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Akilah and Ona, and my old lab Callie. The puppies are a little over a year old, Callie is almost 15.

Thanks, Misty. I've often said he's a Lab with a pointer's torso. Sumnagun runs like one, too. Even with a sedentary job and my smoking habit, my blood pressure went from 150/90 to 120/80 over the past three years. I blame it on chasing after the dog. :grin01:

Pronounciation? bo-dhee-SATT-va. It's a Buddhist term, and the title of one of my favorite Steely Dan songs.
