My first tattoo! =] Everyone, show 'em off!

I know it's the "in" thing for younger people to get tattoos but honestly I think people should wait and really think about any tattoo they are considering. My boyfriend has many customers who have gotten a tattoo when they were younger and no longer like it at 40 and ends up covering it up.
 
I see what you mean Daenery.
I am 18. I still live with my parents, they also pay for everything. But both respect my decision of getting a tattoo. And they said as long as I get something I don't regret they are fine with it. But if they didn't, I would have waited.
 
My boyfriend worked his magic tonight and I am now sporting an awesome frog behind my ear. :) Isn't she beautiful?

Got tired of dealing with people this last year, so I decided to start work on the inking I have liked since I was about 12 or 13...
 
Well, I have a total of six tattoos. The biggest one I have is a cat wearing a witch hat with a feather through it.. it's about 4 inches long and about two inches wide. It's on my right calf (outside).

I have photos of 4 of my tattoos but two of them are in intimate spots.

My Shamrock tattoo...it's on the outside left ankle.

The two I didn't post a photo of are:

1. A musical notes and stars tattoo.. the first four musical notes of "Dixie". It's located on my left hip.

2. The second one is located on my upper right thigh..it's a heart with a rose going through it.

Each one of my tattoos have a special meaning to me.... and all but two are unique tattoos drawn by my own hand or the hand of the tattoo artist.
 
Did you think the rose on your upper thigh hurt? My phoenix takes up most of my right leg, knee cap is totally tattooed, but out of the whole thing I thought her wing on my thigh hurt the worst. OMG I couldn't wait for him to finish that wing.
 
Actually, the one on my upper thigh didn't hurt at all.. the only tattoo's that really hurt me was the yin yang and the cat with the witch hat.. those two hurt like the dickens for some reason.. I am guessing because they are bigger than the other ones.

The one that absolutely hurt the worse was the cat one.. because the cat had to be shaded.. and OUCH.. that shading part hurts like hell.
 
I now have 4. Left calf, top of right foot, right leg and knee cap (pictures posted in this thread) and behind my right ear. My foot hurt like a SOB but not as bad as my thigh. I guess it just depends on the person.
 
I can believe the foot one hurt a lot because it's close to bone.. that's what tattoo artist's have told me.. that's where it hurts the most.. but that shading.. ugh.. terrible.
 
Mine takes up pretty much my whole foot. Both sides, top, and up the front of my ankle. It took two hours.

My boyfriend is a tattoo artist and says hands down the worst spot is on the ribcage/side. I'll pass on that thanks. LOL

I have people laugh when I tell them I'm nervous about getting them on my shoulder or back after they have seen my leg. I have 20 hours in my leg. It's the unkown that makes me nervous. :)

I got so nervous when I got my belly button pierced when I was 28 but it turned out to be nothing, but my nerves got me freaking before-hand. Mike says he'll get one if I do. And he would go first. But his parents think only tramps get tattoos and got really p...ed when our daughter got hers when she visited her mom in florida. And they told him he better never get one.. 43 and his parents still kind of control him. I heard they have a shot you can get to dull the pain before hand...does anyone know if this is true? Maybe one day I will get the nerve, or I'll be 90 in a rocking chair talking about the tattoo I want one day lol!!
Also, I have been looking at tat sites on the web and haven't seen any snake ones that look realistic or ones that aren't evil looking...anyone know of a site where I can get better ideas?

Being a part of this site and the friends I have made gave me the courage I needed to finally get this done...almost 43 now, but finally did it...and I am not done! I am getting another cross on the other side with words in between...either "Only God can judge" or "He died so that I may live"...this tattoo didn't hurt one bit and actually felt good at times, like a massage but the words....hummm may be a different story since they have to go across the boney part of my neck at the neck bone. I am also getting an upper arm one that will have both a snake and gecko. My idea is a flowering vine with a corn snake slithering up it looking down at a gecko on a lower branch who is looking up at it...not sure of the colors and stuff yet...I have a tattooist working on it now. I will post when I get more done!!! Like corn snakes...can't have just one!!
 
Like I said...can't have just one..well..apparently not because I went back just 3 weeks later and got the rest added. I didn't go to the same tattoo studio because they just couldn't seem to get me in. Annoyed me because I told them I was making an appointment and both times I called they told me "Yea, we aren't going to be able to do that." and I didn't even tell them what I wanted or who I was. Just tried to make an appointment. So I contacted the tattooist I had working on the snake/gecko design and asked if he could meet me about finishing the tattoo for me. He met me the same day and did the tattoo 2 days later! I told him I felt bad since I had started it with another guy but he said he understood...that he had heard it before about the same place. This guy was the total opposite of the first tattooist. The first guy was nice, but not friendly if that makes any sense. This new guy is so nice, friendly, talkative, etc. and I was really impressed with his work so I felt very confident. He told me I may need some touch ups to be sure it matches with the other one in a couple of weeks...by then I will need my "fix" lol. I am getting my arm one done for my birthday which is in July. But I took Mike with me yesterday to meet him (he asked for my NevaeH business cards because he had people ask for them...he and his wife have snakes too!) and Mike liked him too and told him as soon as he finishes the design to send it to me and I can go get it done! We have a lot of things going on in June so we are shooting for the last week of June. Mike said I could get it done before then but we are going to my Dad's one weekend (he is having surgery for bladder cancer *please pray*), have a side cleaning job another weekend and going camping June 19-22 and I don't think it would be a good idea to get it done before that because of the dust and dirt that could get in it. I am so excited! And I have plans for more! Getting a lower back "aka tramp stamp" for Mike...can you guess why!, getting one on my back as a memorial for my mom who died of ovarian cancer and getting 2 on my bikini line scars from the hysterectomy. That will be later...maybe Oct when I take my 18 yr old in for his birthday present..his first tattoo...Here is the finished neck...which by the way felt awesome! He told me it may hurt going across the bone but it didn't. I had a small blemish or something right beside the bone that kind of burned but not really hurt if that makes any sense.

I asked about the fact that I have Vitiligo. He said that those spots may be brighter in color so they would need different coloring and may need more touch ups. I am getting the left arm done first since it has less spots. Mike designed a cool Cross design for my right arm...hope to get that done at some point but the Vitiligo is bad on that arm.
 
I really love the cat in the witch hat!

I'll have to get new pictures of mine, but I have 4. Two simple suns with a start and moon inside, one large sun with a cat sitting in a 1.4 moon with a star above it's head all 3 on my back. and my last one is a Leo symbol with a heart on my chest.

I really want 3 more. Pin up girl on my leg, most likely with a boa. Dagger behind my ear. and a corn snake some where, probably on my other leg lol. I'm trying to find a good artist in AL or GA. The one who did 3 of my tats was arrested : \
