I honestly don't think it looks very good when people are covered in tattoo's. I think one would be sorta cool, but small. I've always thought it was be cool to have two 1"x1" wings an inch apart between my shoulder blades :p. I have a feeling I'd later regret it though... and don't they hurt?

LOL Ive grown up around them and find them to be normal and atractive, even my 65 year old grandma has some, my 75 year old great aunt, and almost everyone in my family. I have no pain tolerance (I cry when i get shots...still) However I have one that goes from the middle of my back down to the middle of my thigh, and i have one on my other thigh. Yes it hurts however it gets numb usually. Also you might regret that tattoo cuz it is so small, however, its all up to you. Dont let anyone chose for you.

I've got 5 little ones and one bigger piece I'm working on.

This is just the outline. It still needs color and I'm going to add more to it since it will tie into a sleeve I'm planning for my right arm.

Planning to one day get one of my corns tattooed on me somewhere, but I want to find someone out here who is good at tattooing snakes realistic looking.

A while back, the tattoo shop I normally go to was doing a drawing, to bring in people during a slow time, and I won!!! $500 towards a tattoo, so I jumped all over this opportunity and am getting a relatively extensive one done. 3 sessions in total, which is a lot for me since my biggest one previously was 3 hours. So here is what's been done after the first session today. 5 hours in the making and we've got the outline done:

So if you have been following this thread I posted my tattoo design a little while ago. But today I got my first Ink. After 6hrs and lots of pain I have an amazing tattoo that I'm sure I will love more after it heals and I accept the idea that it's never coming off. Parents weren't too happy about it but it's not on their body so oh well (btw this was for my 22nd b-day which is the end of this month) Anywho here's the finished work, let me know what you think :D

Absolutely adore your tattoo!!

And I know I'm new, but I had to join in the fun. I got my first tattoo this past September while I was in Hawaii for a wedding (not my wedding!). I have always wanted a tattoo and the last year has been a crap shoot for me in many ways (won't get into that). Anyway, at some point during that time I decided a tattoo to remind me to stay positive and live life to the fullest was in order. I came up with the plumeria flower to represent that (in the actual Hawaiian culture it dosent, but I don't really care). So, I researched every tattooer on the island (Maui) until I found an artist with the style I wanted (and the shop is awesome!) and made an appointment.

Anyway...onto the pictures!

And all healed!

I thought after I got it I would never want to go through that again (the pain was still fresh) but after a few months I find myself thinking of what I want for my next one.

This is really pretty! And they are sooo addicting, just like snakes! I was going to try to limit myself to 3, but I'm already on number 8!

Thats AWESOME

Thanks!!! I'm super in love with it, and can't wait to add shading and color!

Thank you! I have to figure out where I want the next one. My other foot is NOT an option! lol

Yours is outstanding! What are the colors going to be?

I'd like a cornsnake tat someday, but I'm scared to get it because I'm scared i'll get a subpar tattoo artist and it will turn out wonky looking and I'll be stuck with it. Plus I'm still doing the plasma donating thing, so can't get one for now anyway.

I do have one for now, just a simple black sun/moon thing I got when I turned 18, nothing major.

Dusty, I like your green cheeks in your avatar pic :)

Thanks! The bottom portion will be natural wood shading to look like a wooden cutout. The top portion we're going to try and make it look like fabric all in cool colors, the main background color being Teal, and then having the flowers look painted on in greens, blues and purples!

I had my bad one from last year recently redone..
now it looks much better..

Thinking about getting a tattoo in Japan when we go there for our honeymoon in 2013. Any ideas on how to research a good place?

I wonder how weird it would be to request a tattoo under anesthesia lol. I really want 1 in by 1 in wings on my back but I'm so afraid lol..

I was terrified of needles to the point where I refused flu shots every year and when I had to have shots prior to my hysterectomy last winter I freaked so bad that my blood pressure was way high!! After having 2 shots and then a hysterectomy..took it all lol..and then having some complications afterwards and going to the ER and having been poked so many times I just got in my car last April after I was healed and got my first tattoo! I was almost 43 so it was time...since then I have gotten (they are in this thread) 2 more on my neck, one on each leg, one on each arm and one on my chest...and getting my stomach done next month! So I say go for it...it really isn't that bad and is actually relaxing to me...
