Opinion: WORST pet snake?

Will you all stop picking on Retics, Burms, Condas, etc.....
I know loads of people with them and they are pussy cats...
A lot of the bad press is from the days of WC... Todays CB with the right owner is no more of a problem than a corn (remembering that some corns can be dodgy)
Oh and their dumps are bigger...
I don't think there is a worst pet snake only wrong owners....
Just think how some people react when you tell them you have a pet snake, then think about some of your reactions and answers..... Though it does ask for opinions in the title...... So thats mine.....
I do agree about Bp though.......

Anyway, I thought this was supposed to exclude the Big Five.

My concern with retics, burms, condas, etc is that MOST people aren't prepared for the size these snakes attain & can't provide a proper situation for such a large snake.

If someone is prepared & can provide for them, that's a whole 'nother story. I agree with you about ~wrong owners~, though. That's really the issue. People need to know what they are getting themselves into & think seriously about whether they can care for that snake before they get it, whether it's a corn snake or a retic.
 
Pimburas and Sri Lankans have just been recognised as separate species (I think)
So that makes it big 7.....
Plus I think they are looking at Amethystines as 4 separate taxonomical species..
So that would make it big 11... LOL
Thats why I asked about big 5 as by coincidence me and Joel were just laughing at the fact that big 5 may no longer be used..... LOL

I got to agree with you about that, thats why I mentioned wrong owners.....
Same as for venomous, I know a few with some serious snakes and they are both perfectly happy together...
King cobras were mentioned and Gaboons, yet as venomous as they are, they are not a problem with the right respect and knowledge....
I've been less than 3ft from a large Gaboon (with no glass between us) and less than 5ft from a fully hooded up adult King cobra and neither made me feel as though I was under any threat.....
I took Diamondlil to meet my mate with the King and she's seen it handled and I'm sure she will support my stance that it's wrong owners and not worst snakes...

Anything that's venomous or poisonous enough to kill you is a bad idea to keep as a pet, that includes all kinds of animals. It's really just a matter of time until you make a mistake (which you will). Then you die and it sucks.

Any extremely aggressive animals that's capable of doing some damage is also a no-no.

Wild animals should NEVER be kept as pets, this means wild species like wolves and stuff (off topic, I know lol)
 
What about viper boas??? Someone once offered to GIVE me a litter of them!! They are not misnamed.

So... the 98% (roughly) of the green 'condas I've seen that are aggressive was just a fluke? :shrugs: The ONLY "tame" green 'conda I've seen is one called "Andy" that frequents the Florida reptile shows.

you don't know what your talking. you have never owned one. my friend has kept and bred green anacondas for over 30 years so that kinder proves you wrong. please don't comment on species you have no clue about.

wow your mature. i think robbie should just stick to what he knows and green anacondas surely isn't one of them. it really annoys me when people comment on species they have never owned.
