Sadly Beth some will just sit and wait for the government to pay their bills. Little thought by some to what will happen when there is no grocery store or if there is the prices will be so high. I do believe there are people who just wait for the handout. The amount of food stamps one gets will not go up the price of food.

Holly, I do not understand where you think that since you have moved on that we all should? This is the beauty of an open forum. People don't have to really move on or stop if they are following the rules of the forum.

If you have moved on then go ahead. This thread has been active for months. I do not see it dying anytime soon.

This country owes more than it can pay back.
And it is very possible that that debt will be called upon.
What then?

What happens in the government devalues the money and a loaf of bread costs $30.00? Don't say it can never happen, it HAS happened numerous times in history.

Okay Starsevol you want to know what I would do? I would pay the bill and if a loaf of bread cost 30.00$ then that is what I will pay. It is not a big deal to me 30.00$? it could be much worse the cost could be alot higher more like 100.00$.

Did you learn about the Great Depression in school? It has the potential to be that and then some. You do not understand the ramifications of this at all.

Oh my goodness, really? $30 bucks for a loaf of bread isn't a big deal? Seriously? How about when you have a house hold to feed, cloth and pay for medical bills? I wish I could live in a world that it doesn't matter or it is not that big of a deal. Life would be so easy. I have 2 teenagers and a husband to fed. We spend close to 800 bucks if not more a month on food alone. I guess when one doesn't work for their money it wouldn't be that big of a deal on what you spend on food, housing and such.

You'll end up like me, with more and more of your monthly salary taxed and supporting other people. Ok, so those on welfare actually do pay disproportionate taxaxtion over here, in the form of VAT on goods and services, but they make no contribution through their wages if they aren't working. Whereas I pay VAT on what I buy, along with taxation on my salary as well as 'National Insurance', which is supposed to fund pensions, education, healthcare etc. Which adds up to almost a quarter of my gross earnings.

I don't see the great depression happening and no the lifestyle that I have or anyone's lifestyle will not come to a end.
