The length of time you could have paid into SS, hypothetically if you were 50 had a full time job since 18 you would have paid into SS, but you really can't say YOU earned it. I don't know your disability is. I'm not saying you don't deserve what you get just that you didn't earn it.
Your logic elludes me the slipper slop of 'what if a bad guy gets a gun'. Guns are a rite and a privalege, like voting and driving; some can, some do and some shouldn't.
 
I think it was Dave that posted.

My son is disabled. He has been since birth. We get SSI, mainly for the medicaid, because most insurance companies only pay for doctors visits and mental health issues up to 1500 dollars a year. The money helps out a lot but again we do not relay on it as steady income. When he gets his first job, the amount will be lowered or even stopped all together, but the medicaid will still be there for him. At one point during his childhood, his medications alone would of cost over 500 bucks a month.

LOL sometimes it helps being on that soap box to get it all out.

I really wish I could have a glass of wine right now, but don't think it would mix well it the pain killer and antibiotics in my system at the moment lol

I need to clarify this part. They only pay for the types of doctors visits he needs for his disability.

I'm not saying she doesn't deserve it either as I don't know the nature of her disability. But I do know that I work long hours, pay a ton of taxes, and am hardly getting by. So for her to be saying she is doing very well working part time and collecting, while at the same time denying that the government will ever go broke and cut her off.....is rather disturbing to me.

Completely agree here. And yes my gun crazed family all carry but luckily we have not had to use those guns and we hope we never will.

Criminals will always get the guns. Guess what? They are criminals that is what they do. I would prefer to be protected from those that illegally own and miss handle guns. I actually had to go check out my brother in laws house when his alarm went off when he wasn't home. My 5 YEAR old asked why I was taking my gun in the house. I asked her "What if the bad guy has a gun and points it at me?" At 5 she understood that it was a form of self defense not mom on a murdering killing spree.

Guess what. I'm one of those people, too. An evil gun owner. I have one I use for competitive shooting, for fun. I have one I keep, loaded, a foot away from my bed for self-protection. Because there is no way in HELL that cops will arrive here before a bad guy could kill me. And I have a big-ass one that I am permitted to carry with me anywhere it is legal to do so, also for personal protection.

Convicted felons can't legally own guns. Do you think that stops them? Grow up. In the real world, normal men, women and children shoot guns for fun EVERY SINGLE DAY, in the US, as is our constitutional RIGHT. We protect ourselves, when law enforcement is spread too thin.

Subject Two. I have paid in 25% of every single dollar I have earned, since I was 14, 40 years, to support people who can't or WON'T work. Maybe some of those people legitimately need help, but in MY opinion, quite a few are scumbag losers who are faking disability or mental illness or having more children for ME to support, or NOT looking for a job after losing theirs. I RESENT that the same people who are taking, taking, taking never take a moment to say thank you for freaking supporting me, since I am too lazy to do so myself.

Thinking that they won't cut those programs is lying to yourself and living in fantasy world. These programs will be the first to be cut. Sad to say but it is reality of it.

No Honey you are living it a fake world if you really think that money is just never ending coming to you. People don't have jobs they can't support you with those tax dollars. Sooner or later if things don't change you will not be getting support. I hope for your sake that it will happen after you are long gone from this world. However I really don't think that will be the case.
 
Yes, SS and VA WILL be the first to be cut.
Because if you want to have ANY money coming into government at all, you need a tax base. And if cuts have to be made, they will have to cut from the non producers first. Holly, your programs would be the first to go, because they don't produce tax revenue, just spend it.

Well I am not faking my disability or my mental illness Iam trying everyday to make it in this world with my disability and mental illness. And I will say it is not easy when you have pepole that do not understand you and make fun of you I go throgh this everyday my mom will tell you.
