My husbands traveled all over the world and he will tell you with all his heart, that their is no place better to live then the USA.

Every town has a Main Street. On Main Street you can buy anything in the world you can possibly imagine. Things not sold in stores or on TV or the interwebs. Here in Daytona, we call Main Street "US1".

The socialized medicine I am not a huge fan of, but then I don't know the specifics of their system. I do think anyone should be allowed to marry anyone, that is freedom and I love freedom. Love seafood so that would be good for me. The Baldwin's...well I am not a fan but the seafood makes up for all that. Oh, and I would venture a guess that you have some stuff in your snakeroom that would make canadians green with envy!

Seriously do you understand all of this. Your page says you are 34, I'm very sure Beth and many others have paid more into SS then you. Have you ever been able to handle a real 40 hr a week job? Beth is being real not mean. Just out of curiousity what kind of job do you have?
 
So when I go to work and die because the bad guy has a gun and I don't, what then?

Bad guys will ALWAYS have guns, not matter what laws are in place. Period.

And those in the food service industries.... i'm sure none of them make anywhere near $250 k a year. thats what? like what...30-40 % or higher, of the income in the US? food industry workers? You know....the little guys?

I work as a machinist. I make cutting tools. Your moen faucet? I made the cutting tool that makes those. Your airbag system on your GM vehicles....I Made the cutting tool that make the firing mechanism that deploys the airbag.

Like auto racing? I make cutting tools used by Hendrix Motorsports, Bobby Rahal,Joe Gibbs racing.....to bore their engines.

Landing gear on Boeing aircraft....yep....I make the cutting tools that are used to produce those parts.

My work is also currently on Mars. Yep, I made the cutting tools that make all the little washers they used on the rover.

I work 50 + hours a week..... I won't make over $40,000.00

Okay Starsevol you want to know whear I work at? I work at the Medina County Achievement center. That place is for the board of developmental disabilities I work thier because I have that problem. You how much I make? like 50 dollars every two weeks we don't get paid every week like alot of work places do.

First of all, if you know the laws, a person who is charged with a felony is not allowed to own a gun. Does that mean they will not get it illegally? No, they can easily buy one on the street and use it for crimes against law abiding citizens. I do not want to be caught without one when the criminals come breaking into my house or threatening my family.

I've always been curious about this 'earn' and 'deserve' rhetoric. There's a massive disconnect there. Just because you got paid money does not mean you deserve it. It is simply a business arrangement. Just because you paid taxes does not mean you deserve any more say than someone who does not.

The first world, the entire first world, lives in a bubble. The money we make per hour would make someone in a third world nation very wealthy. They make much less. The person living in a 3rd world nation who strives every day all day just make sure they can feed their family does not deserve less than you, even though you live a much better life than they do.

Tsst, the idea that you deserve a better life because you weren't born with a debilitating disease is insinuated by your post. An accident of birth does not make you any better or wiser or more deserving than anyone. And the notion that those who have been disabled should be thrown aside to make their own way because they can't keep up with an able bodied person? THAT embodies everything that is wrong with modern society.

Look out for number 1. Don't let anyone stand in your way. Don't let anyone tell you that you can't. The world suffers because people think that just because they were fortunate enough to be born in a wealthy nation, to middle class parents, to be able bodied, to have a government funded education and live a life provided by government funded infrastructure protected by government funded emergency services and government regulations.

You did not earn all of that. That was given to you freely by the government that you so despise.

Oh no, wouldn't take it personal toots. I agree with you. Teachers aids make 13,000 a year. It is sad state we are in right now!

First of all, that was me, not tsst (whom I greatly admire anyhow).
Maybe Holly DESERVES to get taxpayer money, and maybe she does not.
But she does not EARN it. She does not bust her hump year in and year out to be just getting by like so many of us do.

I also don't despise government, in it's place.
