The Kitty Appreciation Thread

Beautiful cats, Ralph still hates the ninja kittens with a passion. She's decided I'm her owner instead of my boys (who rescued her), while my kittens ignore me in favour of my boys

Shadow

Here is a picture of my cat Shadow as a kitten, he is 3 years old now. I don't have a current picture of him at work. Shadow is from Brazos Feral Cats, he was born to feral parents, his brother looked like a long haired siamese and he has the siamese attitude that i am in love with. This little kitten came to me when I needed him!

I have to say I just LOVE this thread. Growing up I couldn't have a cat. My parents hated them. The first thing I did when I got married was get a cat(didn't ask the hubby at the time) and haven't been without one since. I'm really a dog person at heart but am not able to have one and can't imagine my life without my furballs ever again.

That reminded me of something that Drew used to do that I hated (but now I kind of miss it). Every time he would go in the litter box, he'd bury his business and spend about 5 minutes scratching at everything around the box. He'd scratch on the walls, the floor, the lid of the litter box (I use a tote with a hole cut in the top. I've got dogs. LOL), and anything else he could get his paws on. I would constantly try and stop him from doing it, but he did it until the day he died. Does anyone else have quirky cats like that? :)

My Chance does this all the time. Really annoying! She's actually scratched the walls, through the paint, and a little ways into the drywall! Silly cat....and I have to keep a rug under her litter box so that she doesn't scratch up my carpet.

I really need to get some pictures of our barn cats and put them up here! You guys would love them!

I would always get frustrated when I was trying to watch TV or something like that and hearing the constant scratching. Fortunately, we have old wood paneling (that I hate), so it really wasn't a big deal that he was scratching on that. LOL
You should! I keep meaning to get pictures of the strays that are hanging around here. I'll have to get on that soon and post pictures of them here. :) One of the cats is grey and white and has copper eyes (which I love), and the other one is white and tabby and she has a white ring around her tail. They're both really pretty. :)
