Well my friends.....

LOL I know what you mean. My kids christmas list this year has me so poor I could cry. PS3's, 10 games, extra controlers, star wars action figures and vehicles, american dolls with matching clothes, stupid zhu zhu pets, and more. But its christmas and we always go big on the holidays and birthdays. If it came down to splurging these two times a year or my internet I would log off in a second. Money is tight for most adults who don't still live at home and even tighter with kids. The funny thing is its not even a sacrifice when you see your little boy smile- its a gift:)

TOTALLY!!!!!!!!! at least someone is a parent here!!!

Funny after RyanR is exposed (I have more PMs of him dissing the forum and the memebrs) he logs off!

I think jealousy is a huge factor from those who chastise others for buying high end snakes, if you could, you would.. but you can't. so you don't
You sound like someone who got too many Chuck e Cheese parties as a child (not that chuck e cheese birthdays are a bad thing ;) )! Enough said, I shan't waist my time, or cloud the positivity of this thread with anymore than that.

Yellowbelliedhippy - I'm so sorry to hear that you lost your house, and that is truly a wonderful sacrifice to give your child a little light at the end of a dark tunnel. My mom was always the same way. We didn't always have a lot when I was little, sometimes hardly anything, but somehow she made birthdays and Christmas amazing, so I have the utmost appreciation for mothers everywhere who do the same!

Mydad is trying at least! HE is taking me t a herp show to help me pick up a new SSSSS on the 12th:sidestep:

I will shine forever! Like a sunglo corn!

:) love your attitude! Can't wait to see your new baby....Im getting one this Saturday, when I return to space....cannot believe Im not disconnected yet! lol~

I am not gonna tell people on the forum to avoid Drama but PM me if ya wanna know!

Don't worry Guys, Because I speak honestly, I'm A troll ;)
Tho on a weekly basis, I get numerous PM's and E mails from people asking me for help with their snakes, So I must have something to offer,

David, your the last person to speak about tantrums, Or being spoiled, Difference being a work 60 hour work weeks to afford what I want, you have mommy and daddy buy you gifts constantly, anything you want. you research for a few days, and boom.. mommy or daddy buy it for you.

You guys may call it flaming, but I call it honesty...

here, I'll be the bad guy, you said your child/children, are.. what, under 10?
So what would have been the difference between a party at home with all his friends, cake, icecream, gifts, and fun games I'm sure they would have been THRILLED with that... which would cost, 50$? Versus, chuckE cheese, that costs 200$?

Birthday parties sure are fun, and worth while to see your kid happy, and I could argue to say, needed for the childs social acceptance. but to go "all out" and then get behind on a payment, damaging your credit rating, is another thing (and yes, every small thing "damages" that rating.. they want you to fail)

Look at it this way, this is a PUBLIC forum, if you don't want the PUBLICS opinion, good or bad.. don't post.

And there's a WHOLE 20 years experience behind this, so you'd better all listen...

Not every opinion has to be voiced Ryan, especially when it causes upset to strangers.

Yellow, in the last three months I've lost my living, lost my mother, and my daughter's lost her fiance in the middle of their wedding preparations - he ran off with an older woman. My biggest worry? My 23 year old daughter. When she's straight again and worked out how to pay her mortgage then I'll worry about the rest. If someone gifted me a thousand pounds tomorrow I'd give it all to her and sod the bills.

Ryan, you don't get kids 'til you get kids.

Ok, I don't agree with what Ryan is saying, but this seems to be as good a point as any to address the fact that I've been seeing a lot more ageism on the forum lately and I don't necessarily believe its warranted. Age doesn't necessarily mean somebody is going to be inferior to you. Their maturity, intellectual, and ethical age, however, plays a much bigger factor. When people immediately address age as a reason for them disregarding a remark I honestly lower my retention of their opinion immediately. Address the statement. Not the age, race, sex, etc. of the person making the statement.

Just my $.02

And Yellowbelly - I'm truly sorry to hear about your situation as I can't even begin to imagine how awful that has to be. I'm glad to hear you're putting your children above the internet and think that's a quality lost among many parents nowadays. Have fun at CC and good luck!

While I suspect that we are essentially on the same side here, I must point out that I for one was not pointing out my superiority to Ryan, or his necessarily being inferior due to age. But to comply with your wishes I'll restate in a form you might find acceptable:

Ryan has the maturity of a 20 year old, the intellect of a 20 year old, and the ethical age of a 20 year old.

Now where does that leave you? Have I just insulted Ryan or praised him?

In this case I believe that Ryan's physical age exactly matches his level of maturity, ethical reasoning and intellect. If you don't think that being three times someone's age and a parent to adult children gives me an experiential edge when discussing parental feelings then please advise me on your reasoning, but make it good.

Actually Ryan your ignorance has led you astray...again. You have no clue! I earn every penny that I spend on my animals. Last night I spent 2 hours cutting chuncks of Tilapia into correct sizes dor some of the snakes. Thats dedication. I would be willing to put money on the fact you think you are better than everyone else. Since you get all these emails I feel very sorry for the poor soul that gets your helps since you stopped takeing this forum "seriously". You are pissing me off with your ignornace. Now back to YBH you must have soemthing against parents. Were you not hugged as a child? BTW posting a picture of you staring at the computer without a shirt onis not scary, intimidating or anything else. :sidestep:

David, do you ever sleep?

Hippiechick, from one deadhead to another, I commend you on your strength and your willingness to go above and beyond for your son. Little kids should not have to deal with the horrors of losing everything they own in a senseless fire or any other tragedy. Unfortunately, it happens all too often. He'll never be this young again. Bravo to you for rockin' his day!!! (And at CEC, no less. My god have mercy...)
