Heh, yeah I tend to be very picky about who I buy from, too. I do understand that, but it's not a matter of how big they are, it's how much they are into corns (or how passionate they are about their specific projects) that does it for me. :)

How do you decide whether or not you "know" a breeder? There are lots of good breeders on this site, but I've never met them personally. Are you looking at the BOI and judging their reputation or do you insist on meeting them in person? I'm just curious what you would consider "knowing" someone.
 
You seem to be forgetting that their are a number of smaller and reputable breeders right here at your fingertips! Or right in your face since you are looking at this site. ;)
You obviously have to ask the questions, but they are here and with some nice snakes also. FedEx is a wonderful thing.
 
What is a BOI?
Reputation is key with me.

Being a breeder who loves corns enough to be a member of this forum holds a great deal of weight with me. Its a start.
 
Stars you have it better off being in RI than I have it being in NH where I have yet to come across any good breeders, or shops besides NERD but their not really known for there colurbirds from what I have seen.

Are you going to the reptile expo?

It was a battle getting the hubby to let me keep Kelseys incredible striped babies. Well,ok, he KNEW I was keeping them no matter what but I did hear about it.

It will be awhile before I get new blood in here...

Yeah, when I was at eight snakes in the collection, the woman I've been seeing for a few years told me that that was enough (she would sooner put her hand in the running garbage disposal than handle one). I've added sixteen to the collection since then. She tells me that I've seriously jeopardized our chances of ever cohabitating. What a shame! Of course, like my snakes, I'm a very solitary creature, so maybe it's all for the best. ;)
 
Well...when my rosys pass on, I wont be getting more. The same with my bts and my leopard gecko. I like them...I really do...but not like cornsnakes and domestic rats. I LOVE those...

You know those old ladies with all the cats?

Well if this be the case, then how am I to convince you that I am a good person to purchase from?? Have you seen my my site (link in my sig)?? Would that be enough to convince you that I'm a good guy? Do you need some info about me? You can't really ask anyone here whether or not I'm a good guy to purchase from, as no one has ordered from me yet. This might mean that my future shop is doomed before I have the chance to get it running. Or maybe that's the illusion, that I have a chance. Oh well, chance or no, I will get it going. If I can keep it going, that's the trick. The snake community needs good pet shops to go to, and that's what I'm going to create.......
 
The BOI is the Board of Inquiry, where you can find out about a seller's history and if its been good or bad. Its a very useful tool.
