Daytona 2009

I hadn't posted on Fauna...not sure if anyone else has. I forget about that site a lot since I never post over there myself.

I haven't seen any feedback to contradict a choice for USARK so let's just go with it.
I contacted Andrew today at USARK and hopefully he is going to be able to send me some flyers that we can put up at dinner as well.
 
Great! If it is settled for sure, I will think about asking a few people for donations. Good timing, actually. Our local herp society meeting is tomorrow night. There are a couple of small breeders there who might donate something.
 
Maybe somebody from US ARK might want to attend...

and say a few words about what they do? That might fuel more raffle ticket sales.
 
Just to keep everyone up to date with our progress-- our attendance will depend 100% on whether Tara's house in Kilmarnock sells by then. If it does, we will be among the many happy attendees at the 2009 Daytona show... if it does not, sadly we will have no cash to go.

So if everyone could just band together and send good home-selling vibes, prayers and thoughts our way, that would be GREAT! ;)

I have talked to a couple of people about donations...

including a sales rep for Zoo Med. I should be able to get a few items or animals from several businesses. But I need a letter or flyer or something from US ARK to show that there is some sort of agreement. Do we have anything like that?

Anyone want to live in a quiet quaint town in Virginia. Only 2ish hours from DC and no pet laws to mess up a nice small business. *grin* 2 bedrooms 2 baths, newly painted (washes hands)? Fenced yard people...get it while it's hot. 127,000 and you can hang your hat!

Well,Hallie has just about got me and Matt convinced into driving down with her to Daytona! YAY! Now we're just trying to figure out how to get all the funds for our stay there together in just a few weeks. So if we can figure out a way to stay there then we'll be there with everybody.
 
Are you kidding me, Min? That's so awesome! The rate that Katie has makes it much easier where funds are concerned. If I go, I'm planning on doing the "clown car" for the cabs to and from the shows. I have a biiiig lap, so I can easily carry two or three people on it for that short of a distance!
 
Well we would be driving and splitting gas costs with Hallie. With Katie's room rates,gas,stops,etc.we've got it figured out to about a grand give or take a little. Soooo we're selling some stuff that our dogs don't need anymore and Matt's even going through his precious sword collection and we're going to try to sell those too. Aww! See he's not such a bad guy! He's even willing to sell his swords! He also said he can work open to close up until the show and that would give him some extra over-time. We'll see if we can make it happen!
 
Aww, Matt's a GREAT guy! And freakin' TALL, too! Holy moly...I couldn't believe when I hugged him I only came up to his ribs....geez o' man...do you have his clothes custom made??

I hope you guys can make it happen....you're lots of fun...I'm still not sure if I'll be there, but I'm working on it. I'm also working on getting Wade, Vicki and Dean there, so all help is appreciated!! They can all bunk in my room, even if I'm not there!
 
LOL! Nope! He wears a 36x34 in pants and XL shirts. I only come up to his ribs too! In fact I think I fit perfectly in his arm pit when I'm standing! He's excited because he's gone from weighing 145lbs to 190lbs in the last 6 months. He used to wear a 32x34 pant!
 
Min that would be just awesome if you guys could make it! We can get you a room rate as low as $79 per night if you can/need it. Just let me know!
