I wonder how many people would at least agree that intergrades should be allowed to be bred back into corns? If you leave them on their own, they are just going to do it by themselves so.... what are the general thoughts on this one? Is it okay? To think of all those intergrades polluting wild corns already though... perhaps there should be round ups each year. Any snake found to be deviating too much from the norm... suspected intergrades are all rounded up and kept isolated to keep our corns pure in the wild.

Has anyone ever stopped to really think about how much damage the intergrades/hybrids have done to pure cornsnake genetics over and over since the beginning of the first cornsnakes pipping? If we could all get together and eradicate this harmful influx of snake genes. But, then how do we erase the pollution that has already occurred via these natural hybrids?

Sarcasm, another technique used to belittle someone. Yes, I agree it is more advanced than simply calling someone stupid or charlie brown.

Your opinions on hybrids are your opinions. I would never try to force my opinion on anyone... to include myself. This means, I will even allow my own opinions to change as facts are introduced to encourage a meaningful switch in opinions. Other than that, I will always try to see another persons opinion and respect it. Notice, I did not say agree with it. I only agree with facts.
 
Ignoring a person, another technique that works as a negative enforcer when shaming or belittling a person does not work to change their opinion. I'm not trying to force you guys into changing your opinions and I'm not belittling you to try and make my stance seem stronger. I like hybrids and I get that some of you don't like hybrids.

So of us like hybrids, most on the particular forum don't exactly care for them. You are not changing anyone's opinions on hybrids... period. You are just changing peoples opinion of you.

If you want people to party with over the awesomeness of hybrids go to this forum.... http://www.hybridherps.com/ It is full of people doing AMAZING things with hybrids. This site is full of people doing AMAZING things with corn snakes.

You will be enraptured by the hybrids over there. It's where all the cool hybrid breeders hang out. They love it. There is cookies and everything.

Jehovah's witness and Mormons as well have that same technique that they use when a former members opinion goes against their own. Its called disfellowshipping, excommunication, etc. The severity of the punishment can be quite severe. I've actually known Jehovah's witnesses personally that were disfellowshipped simply for not believing in Witnesses were not the sole and reasonable religion. Their own family members and friends were forbidden from talking to them. Very sad, that their families lost such valuable members that were not afraid to think outside of the box. Cults use the same technique as well. Good luck with that.

I have left it at that, but I have also left it open for peaceful discussion that is done in a non-denigrating manner. I leave all of my opinions open like that. I am not so closed minded that I would ever refuse a polite and well meaning person dialogue that wanted to talk about a subject I was interested in as well. If I was bored with the conversation, I would find a polite way of leaving the conversation and leave. I would never begin to think to tell someone else to leave in a public forum that was talking about exactly what the thread was about. If your bored with the thread, leave. You don't have to get upset about it or try and force someone else to leave. You don't have to belittle another's intelligence to prove your point. Just my thoughts on the matter.

Simply put, if you want to talk about hybrids and why hybrids are made, why hybridizers do what they do... the topic of this thread... then stay and do so. If not, then you are free to leave this thread or stay on. You do not have the right to denigrate someone who does not agree with your stance however. You do not have the right to tell someone who wishes to talk about the topic of this thread they have no right to do so.

You like hybrids? Yes? Got it.

I am trying to point you toward a group that feels just as strongly as you do about them. It's called help. That forums is awesome. I am a member there and I produce hybrids myself.

I don't talk about it much here because people on this forums feel strongly about CORN SNAKES... not hybrids.

That's like walking into an Army forum and posting about how awesome the Navy is. Yeah you both fight for the same cause, but each is very proud to do their own thing. Just like purest and hybrid makers.
 
Funny you should mention the Navy. My father was Navy during Vietnam and my grandfather was Navy during WWII. As to your post, if you try and dictate to someone that they should not talk about what a thread is specifically about.... I don't get that. I also don't get your correlation with the Army/Navy forum. If go to an Amy forum and there is a post about Navy members there, I fully expect Navy members to be allowed to post if it is an open forum. However, the correlation would be more exacting if you were to say that the forum was a military one (coast guard cornsnake purists wild types), marines(morph breeders), army ( hybridizers)etc. Now, if you made that correlation then it would be a little more accurate. I would still argue that a thread about Army (hybridizers) should be about hybridizing or the topic of the thread. Time should not be wasted on belittling someone who is actually talking about the topic of the thread.
 
Again with the name calling! Ya'll have fun with the troll. Seriously, calling me a troll, stupid, charlie brown, etc. does not make you seem more intelligent or right. Simply jumping on the bandwagon to denigrate another that values hybridizing the same as you... makes me wonder. In the future, if there is another one where you and I have meaningful discourse.... realize that. I sincerely hope you realize that. We may share similar passions, but again... I have to leave it alone rather than get sucked into explaining why it is not helping to denigrate another human being.
 
I took a nap and this thread went on for pages.
Not that I care much, well I do but this thread has put me over the I don't care line.
I bought a Creamsicle not knowing it was a hybrid, it was labeled Creamsicle Corn, I already had an Amel and shockers was told I could co-hab. Soon found this forum and co-habbing is a no and I agree. Hybrids I found out about and I like them, find them interesting have bred Creamsicle and Normal, shoot me now. I was upset by mis-labeling, did I cry for a week no, do I hate all people who breed hybrids NO?
Shockers I even grow hybrid tomatoes, are Heirlooms good, great sure, but some hybrids have their purpose.
Shoot me now, put me on ignore list, I'm over the my opinion is better then yours. I think many posters on this thread have tried to put the other side down belittle them... We need to get over ourself agree to disagree, but also not think less of the person we disagree with. I might say jeez these are snakes that are causing this heated debate, but I think it may go beyond snakes. This is my opinion and my opinion only, my .02, my 15 minutes.
