stupid breeders why cant you just leave things be

My son is in the marines, my father was in the navy, my grandfather was also in the navy. I on the other hand opted for the Army, so yes... our entire family is military.

No, to paraphrase, you said how odd it was that "we" were trying to silence a veteran who fought to preserve our freedom of speech.

Only- it's Carpe's son who is in the military.

And no one is saying Carpe can't offer his opinion. Some just think he offers it too much, too often.

But there's no rule against that.

You know full well what I mean.

Yes, I have said things that weren't nice, rude even, but my temper got the better of me. (not towards you tho, no remorse!)

But never have I brought religion, military or NAZIS into this! Saying something like this to an Austrian (or German) person is an immediate red flag. We hear it too often, it's an unfair prejudice people have towards us. There is just no need! Below the belt.

Okay- whose pedigree shall we examine next??

Mine!!!

Good luck though, I am such a mix breed that I don't even know whats back there. Just found out a few months ago that one of my great great ancestors was a freed slave in Louisiana... So I can add African (not sure where exactly in Africa, or tribe) to the list I already have...LOL

Sorry Nancy, my temper got the better of me, no more arguments and posts about this I promise ;)

This is a corn snake forum after all ...

I can't control everybody But I can do my part in not tainting the gene pool. My animals went to people for pets not breeders. I don't believe in cruelty to animals either. snipping henipeans is very fast and prolapsed males can be found in breeding season in the wild. It is not like they use the hemipean to pee . People have their dogs testies removed all the time. If you castrate the corns as babies right after the first shed they stop bleeding in less than a minute. It is not like a adult that has a well developed hemipean

Oh God, please no, don't bring the fact he was in the Army/Navy (??) into this, religion was bad enough!

This is a thread about SNAKES for God's sake!!

Okay, lets get something straight, veterans of all branches serve so that you don't have to. Personally, I have handled many of my fellow dead soldiers and yes, that kind of thing gets to you. You dry heave until you learn to deal with it and detach from that. Soldiers do these things and more so you can have your freedoms. We serve so that you can have the freedom to rant about your opinion. So that you can speak your mind. We do these things so you can have freedoms that we don't have. In the service, you don't get to voice your opinion on your commander in chief. You give up certain liberties so that civilians won't have to give up their freedom of speech. If you don't like someone giving their opinion then that is fine. You have the right to speak your mind. Thank a veteran for that. Denigrating anyone however is not freedom of speech however. Denigrating someone calling them charlie brown, stupid, or anything else for that matter is simply trying to shame them into silence. It is the opposite of freedom of speech. Saying, lets all put this fellow on ignore is another form of silencing another individual and some cults and or religions use it. Its called disfellowshipping, excommunication, etc. This is an even more serious form of punishment that is used to silence differing opinions. I call things like I see them. If you don't like that, state your opinion on that. You have that right, but enough with the denigrating. Be above that and respect human life enough not to do so. You don't have to agree with me or any other soldier. But value human life and the liberties you have enough to voice your opinion in a civil manner when being spoken to in a civil manner. And Bonkers, bringing up religion isn't a bad thing. That is my opinion. But you can't castigate someone for bringing up religion and then bring up religion yourself as you did in the same paragraph. It just brings attention to the hypocrisy of your statement. Its like saying, don't bring up hybridizing, but then you can state all you want how you don't like hybridizing. Freedom of speech is fine, I just ask for the denigration to stop. If you want to belittle someone... do it by giving them facts and refuting their facts in a civil non-sarcastic or demeaning manner.l:argue:

Yeah... people castrate their animals under anesthetics. Call it what you will, you are severing an organ without using anesthetics… and you do so without informing the buyer. The animal receives antibiotics to prevent infection even? Because Anesthetics and Antibiotics are used on dogs.
Also, I am quite sure that the law in the US is similar to here… and so, only vets are qualified to conduct such a procedure, which is definitely medical procedure… so… you're also breaking the law.
The fact that the animal can't scream doesn't mean it doesn't endure pain… there are allot of injuries that can be very painful without them bleeding.
I'm sorry… but you're mixing an extreme approach with a very cold logic… "the cause justifies all means". These are living beings, not things to be put in an equation. I truly hope there aren't any, or at least very few people, who act as you do towards animals you produce.

No problem from now on I'll just throw them in the freezer. I'm sure they will be in more pain that way and die for no reason Or feed them to another snake and they can suffer for a few minuets while they get squeezed to death or eaten alive. Now I hope that makes you happy. I think it would be a lot more humane to snip a hempine that is a undelvolped nerve ending than kill the poor thing

No, I do not agree with you. Your religion or being a Veteran has nothing to do with this thread. So I certainly do not have to thank you for being able to voice my opinion. Besides it is different where I grew up, people do not want to join the Army at all, and it's not something we are overly proud of if someone does (no dig at you Americans, just stating how it is here), so maybe I look at it differently. Kudos to you for serving though, but it doesn't change my opinion of you.

And I wasn't spoken to in a civil manner at all.

You do realise that most of this comes from your shoving opinions down our throats. Constantly repeating yourself. This thread was dead until you had to revive it, post constantly, etc. Besides, how come you are the person who is attacked most? Why is it so many people have a problem with your posting, including me?

Don't even know why I used Oh God, habit probably, I am not even religious, an Atheist even. So I do apologize for that.

For the record, I never once called Carpe Serpentis "Charlie Brown". I did however state that whenever he posts a lengthy boring diatribe my brain tends to shut down, and his words remind me of the TEACHER featured in the classroom of a Charlie Brown cartoon. One of the kids would speak and you could understand them perfectly well, then the teacher would talk and it was blah blah blah, completely garbled and non sensical.

Kokopelli, you are a god of fertility. I get that. See, the real problem is this, you are bringing in more snakes with defects such as kinks, wrong morphs, variations, and yes... even hybrid combinations that just aren't up to par. Now, I have a suggestion, if you would simply not give rise to these less than par subjects... make those eggs infertile, then there would be no culling. Culling is a very much debated topic and how to cull is also debated among many breeders and hybridizers alike. Mouse and rat hybridizers and breeders have an easy out with this. They sell their culls to people who own snakes. It is very cold and logical to do so and you could imagine how hard it is if you have ever been attached to something or someone. Many simply couldn't do it. They have to learn to detach. You could argue that these mice and rodents are living being and culling them for the snake hobby is unethical. Especially since these are rodents being bred for pets.
Snake hybridizers and breeders may utilize another snake to feed their culls to. The bottom line, culling is and has been done in one form or another since mankind began to domesticate or breed animals and plants as well. I'm with you on the idea that it is best to eliminate pain and suffering from all life. That is the ideal we all strive for. I am however pointing out the ugly truth that allows many hybridizers and breeders to stay above the rest of the competition. Freedom of religion for Native Americans by the way was not granted until 1978. The freedom of religion act was signed into act by President Jimmy Carter. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Indian_Religious_Freedom_Act
I know these things because I know my religion.

No... it would be a deal more humane not to breed them in the first place actually.

I have no idea on what scientific grounds you claim that the nerve ending is undeveloped and you keep ignoring the fact that I am opposing the fact that you do not use anesthetics nor antibiotics.

You want to play at mad scientist? go ahead, I guess I can't stop you- but I can certainly say you're practicing animal cruelty because you are not using anesthetics and antibiotics.

This is not about killing vs castrating- this is you severing organs without using anesthetics and antibiotics.

WOW Someone goes and cleans their car and comes back to this!! My post is not going to have much value but there were a few comments I had. lol

Mine!!!

I am so glad you are back!!

Oh, shoot me now, but this is just ridiculous. Maybe it's because I am from Europe, but I don't understand your point of view at all.

Well this isn't nazi germany and people are entitled to their opinions, people can either agree or disagree.

These two comments were back to back.

My bad I didn't know you were Austrian until after the fact.

So leads to tell me you did have a good idea of where she was from.

So all who have military ties, can do whatever they want because they have those ties? It looks like you use it as an excuse. Like "he was in the army, so let him say whatever". Nah don't think so!!

And I know perfectly well what relevant means, but this has no relevance to this thread whatsoever. Nil, zero, nada.

You know like most the others in this thread I come from a military background and on one hand you have my Uncle that his opinion should always be listened to but he is so humble would never even out right tell you his rank. But my brother oh lord he came home with a chip on his shoulder and everyone would worship the ground he walked on because he was military and that got him in big time trouble. So I can see the point you are trying to make here.

I've put a codicil in my will, leaving my hybrid snakes to be split up among some of the persons on this thread. So that way, when they become inherited, then Bethany will have to approve of them, as then they will be 'Herilooms'. :sidestep:

Can I please be on that list? You have some cool stuff. Wish I had room for your auction because that snake would be coming over here.

For the record, :noevil:that doesn't help your cause so much. I think I would have left it at charlie brown.:noevil:
